Turn based RPG's for a while now have started to suck to me. The story has to be really, and I mean REALLY interesting.

That's the thing about Lost Odyssey, the story was SO good. I'm usually bored to death when playing these games, and don't even get my started on Final Fantasy 13, BARF! But it was really gripping right from the opening cinematic to the stunning ending. And yeah it actually has a payoff in the end.

Be sure to watch this in 720p.

I guess I'll give it a try at some point since that's your opinion on FFXIII. It's been in my top drawer for a month. Got to around the 7 hour mark and just got tired of it. Hoping some day I'll find the interest to finish.

Glad to hear. I pushed on in FF13 until 36 hours in, and I just couldn't do it. I got to the open ended part of the game and it really did make things any better. I bought it brand new and I had to sell it back, it was that bad. For everytime some good thing happened, 3 boring and slow things happened to ruin it. :(

But Lost Odyssey perfects the classic turn based battle system with some beautiful effects and really cool moves. I'm craving for Lost Odyssey 2. Grrr!

DTEWI, you should play shadow hearts: Covenant on PS2. :D, related because the people who made it... are kinda a lot of the same people,  as the people who made Lost Odyssey. >_> minus uematsu and sakaguchi ofcourse
I won't say which one I prefer :D.

I played it and it pissed me off so I stopped playing it.

The first big bird fight was stupid.  I actually tried to apply strategy like use things it might be weak against when you're just supposed to ignore any special abilities or items, ignore allies falling in battle, and just hit it.

I been interested in getting it recently, But Im afraid the turn-based battles will be a borefest!!

The story seems interesting and I like the fact that the main character isnt a feminine looking teen douchbag!!

I don't own a X360 and don't plan to. Had it come out on the PS3 and I would have played it for sure.

Funny story in how I was going to sell the game off for in store credit without giving it any time of day. That was until the store clerk convinced enough to keep the bloody game sighting it as an amazing experience.

Well.............. She was right.

Not a fan of JRPG's given a few a go this gen and only enjoyed FFXIII.  Given most people are quick to lambast FFXIII for not beinga traditional JRPG I don't think I'll bother ever trying LO.

This isn't a bash against JRPG games, it's just my personal tastes.

I beat it and ts awesome

I echo the question as it's still the best game on the 360.

Well... I wouldn't go that far, that is kind of a ridiculous comment.

Why and how was that ridiculous?

I think it's the best experience the 360 has to offer. Counterpoint?

Seriously, you have got to try it then. FF 13 was just sooo boring. If you enjoyed it, then more power too you, but I feel like when I play that game, a little bit of me on the inside dies. Lost Odyssey was everything I've always wanted in an RPG. And I'm definitely not the biggest RPG fan out there.
