DS still a beast

Damn you all! When Samus saw those numbers she snapped again.

Poor Samus.

Looking interesting.

Might eventually get Other M, but at reduced price.

WTF ... Lol

Metroid: Other M (Wii)
Nintendo
1 32,210 32,210

Biggest Flop of the year ?? :/

LoL after i posted news that Sniper sold 500k total of which 200k was in US they adjusted the x360 version in Europe that's rediculus - with 300k sales of pc and x360 version in whole world excluding america ioi thinks there's 3:1 to split in favour of console version in Europe?

And that 500k figure was likely shipped not sold since it came directly from City Interactive boss.

Why did no one buy Valkyria Chronicles 2 or Metroid I hate you all Europe  but I will forgive you tomorrow.

Actually VC2 sold more first week than first one did. And that's without PSN sales while in Poland PSN is only way to get the game currently other than importing (situation might be similar with other east europe countries).

Sadly with the current market in EU almost 10k pieces of fully priced niche PSP game is success.

Metroid was never big in Europe.  Check the sales difference between Americ and Europe for all the titles.  Corruprtion is the only to have even 50% of the American sales.  Many of them were just 25% of the American total.

But if this number turns out to be 25-50% of the American sales... that's still terrible.

If it's 25% of the US numbers, it will be right in line with Metroid Prime Trilogy figures which opened to 115k in the Americas.  In fact that title only sold 10k first week in Europe.

MPT is now the standard to compare with.......?

That in itself reflects how bad these Other M numbers are.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Why have you become so anti Wii lately?

I'm anti-MOM, not anti Wii. As far as Wii momentum stalling, I'm just being realistic.

Move may push the ps3 ahead of both the 360 and Wii in EMEAA

or it may do nothing...

It will have an effect, that's for sure. Any marketing campaign as strong as Move, Kinect, Halo Reach or Gran Turismo 4 will make the sales uproar. That's why the week of Halo Reach, or the week of move, when X360/PS3 will be on TV a lot of time, even non fans could be interested in the product.

Other M bomba! Even though I despise the game, I hate to see it do poorly. Nintendo might put Metroid on another 8 year hiatus :(

Or nintendo will see the light and retro will give us real Metriod game, not this imposter

Less then 100.000 sales for MoM in japan and others, but with us sales it might reach 190-200.000. Not good

Nintendo made a Metriod that appeals to the smallest percentage of metriod fans

I sent nintendo emails outlining why I will not finish this game and trade MoM  in for DKC

Sakamato is one of the creators of Metroid, and a top guy at Nintendo. What makes you think your (e-mail) opinion will triumph over his?

Good numbers for everyone, looking solid for sure.

Other M flopped pretty bad, so what then caused the Wii boost?  I'm really curious since it doesn't seem it was the launch of Metroid.

Next week could possibly see the Wii over 360 in EMEAA, then again just as good of a chance of it not.

Halo Reach hardware boost will be significant.

I would assume that the temporary Wii price cut for the UK Bank Holiday that we saw reflected in last weeks sales is also showing here.
