From IGN:

Nyko Reveals Wireless Wii Nunchuck
Exclusive news and first pictures revealed.
December 6, 2007 - The Wii is a pretty slick system in many ways, from the small and understated proportions of the console to the minimalist yet powerful Wiimote. In our minds, its only really glaring aesthetic shortcoming is the fact that the Wiimote and Nunchuck are tethered by a wire that gets in the way during gameplay and makes storing the controllers a hassle. Many have debated why Nintendo didn't extend the Wii's wireless capabilities to both controllers, and there have been rumors from time to time that Nintendo is considering launching a wireless option.

Today, IGN can exclusively reveal that Nyko will beat Nintendo to the punch with a wireless Nunchuck alternative. Set to make a public debut at CES next month, Nyko's Wireless Nunchuck will mirror most aspects of the first-party model but will finally cut the cord between the controllers.

Nyko's Wireless Nunchuck will employ 2.4-GHz wireless to communicate with a receiver module that jacks into the Wiimote's usual Nunchuck port. As the pictures suggest, power buttons on both the receiver and Wireless Nunchuck will turn the connection on and off.

In terms of gameplay, the Wireless Nunchuck should function just like the first-party option, as Nyko looks to be remaining true to Nintendo's general layout and button locations. Pricing and final release information will be announced at CES, so until then, enjoy these exclusive first pictures and start looking forward to even greater freedom in Wii gameplay.

Well, it's not a nunchuck if it's wireless...

Also, it's third party, and they probably removed the rumble, like Nintendo did with the Wavebird controller, and Sony did with the Playstation 3 controller. You would assume that such simple things would make the "wireless" jump.

Interesting, hopefully the response time will be seamless.

seems pretty cool.

But then the Wii Condom will not fit! This Wii Condom is pissing me off. It doesn't fit in the GHIII or Zapper Wiimote mods. It doesn't work with the battery pack and if I use rechargeable batteries I have to take it off all of the time because they run out of juice quicker than regular batteries.

Can you use the Wireless Nunchuck and the Wiimote battery pack at the same time?

Yeah well, at least if they remove rumble it'll be only from the nunchuck, so we only get half rumble

 Nintendo's Nunchuk doesn't have rumble...

Is it my imagination, or does that look larger than a normal nunchuk?
