i see all of regarding gt5 and sony fans, once they see that it will not sell very much compaired to other consoles big hitters this holiday

This is NA's pre-order charts, a place where everyone understands that Halo outsells GT. It was a claim of WW that GT5 could sell more, not NA.

I'd also suggest learning what "spin" means before out of context use.

oh but i am refering to worldwide sales, worldwide it will fall way short of expectations too

Your opinion, got it. I guess we also agree that there's been no spin either, because nobody claimed GT5 would be bigger than Halo here. WW is for another thread.

I will take that bet BHR

Gran Turismo 5 will NOT sell 3m copies first week.

Europe 1. and more importantly UK is Gran Turismo's biggest selling region. Things have changed a lot since ps2 generation. 2. At the time of GT4 releasing there were 7.5m PS2's in UK and it was a game on a console that had no real competition. This time around for GT5 there are just 3m PS3's in UK, a drop of over 50%. Plus there are two other competitors which have both outsold it. In fact even 360 is nearly at sales of 2 to 1 over PS3 there. That will have a huge effect on sales this time around.

Plus Pro-logue was never a full price game. It started at £25 here, nearly half the price of a full titled game. Then in a matter of weeks it was at the £15 mark and below, which it is at today. Plus the game was bundled with most PS3's here for a period, it came with mine. I think they even ran a LBP GT5:p bundle for ages if i remember right.

If you look at UK pre-order sites charts your see it mirrors this chart pretty much.

If you look at those charts GT5 seems to be around the 8-10 mark. With even other racing games ahead of it i.e F1 2010.

3.This generation is full of games that sold less then their previous game in the last gen i.e GTA4. I expect GT5 will be another one of those games.

1. Care to give link ? As far as I know racing is just as popular for example in Spain, italy and Germany. Of course as even PS3 has sold most in UK in europe GT5 will probaby sell most there but you can't dismiss other countries by saying that racing isn't popular outside of uk. If it sells less in uk than previous entries it could sell more in continental europe.

2. Don't remember GT3 ? PS2's Install base at the time it was released was lower than PS3's install base is today.

3. There are also some examples where reduced install base size hasn't affected much to the overall sales. MGS4 and RE5 for example.

I really don't see any reasons why GT5 couldn't match the sales of its predeccors. Maybe delays have affected little to its brand name but even that is pretty much just speculation at this point. I guess we will see after it's released.

People forgot that GT has strong legs.

Last gen yes, this gen probably not, no game had stronger legs than San Andreas, last gen. This gen GTA hasnt even reached 7 million on ps3.

It WILL reach 7 millions though, you're acting like San Andreas sold 18 millions in one week.

Also, GTA4 was released on both PS3 and Xbox360 which is why it is under 10 million units sold on PS3. And like I said, it is still selling.

You all should check GT4's sales, it had incredibly strong legs even though they were killed by the launch of the next-generation consoles shortly after.

I know GTA SA sold 18 mill in a week, I never implied that, all I was saying is that noone should expect GT5 to automatically sell as much as the previous titles because situations have changed, PS3 has sold a fraction of what the ps2 sold at the same point in time.

GT3 sold near 10 million in a user base lower than PS3 has now.

Wait and see.

GT3 over 7 million in a user base lower than PS3 has now.

1. GT3 was bundled for LOOOONG time(there was still a gt3 bundle when I bought my ps2 in 03)

2. GT3 was the first major blockbuster on the system.

1. Yeah, but GT4 launch in 2005 when PS3 has a 75M user base... GT3 has already sold 13M ...  2003 when GT3 sold 10M the PS2 user base was 45M... GT3 sold 10M in the same user base of PS3 has now.

2. GT5 is the fist major exclusive blockbuster on the system... no other sold more than 5 million.

Halo Reach will probably get to about 1.96 million pre-orders with next weeks numbers.

Black Ops numbers are just disgusting, and Fable 3 is rockin pretty hard.
