Forums - Microsoft - The TWO First Halo Reach Reviews EVER.

I've played the campaign nothing special, its not bad, but its not much better than Halo 3 tbh. So i would except this game to get similar reviews like Halo 3, since from what i played of the beta the MP looks solid but again not that innovative. Still light years ahead of the overhyped MW2 though.

I've played it too and don't understand how anyone could even mention Reach and Halo 3's campaigns in the same breath.  It's a chasm the gulf is that wide in almost every category.  The pacing, story, character involvement, everything is superior, thats not even mentioning the gameplay, graphic and sound improvements.  The only criticism I could find was the campaign isn't the longest, that being said when the credits roll you'll not have felt they should have added anything extra as there is no dreaded filler levels.

I've booked the 14th and 15th off work now to enjoy the game properly with my friends as we blitz the campaign and maybe start some multiplayer fun.

Can't comment on MW2 as I will never play that game.

Two awesome reviews from unknown websites: "Zomg yes!"

Two horrible reviews from unknown websites: "Lol, they're just biased"

Hooray for double standards.

Let's just wait until more reliable sources come out for reviews.

Welcome to the complex life of being a human. Emotions, psychology, etc, you know the deal.

Don't pretend to act surprised dtewi, you should understand yourself and other humans better than that. =P

I never understood the concept of giving 10/10 when one of the factors used isn't 10/10. Oh well.

...so in your opinion, nothing can ever be greater than the sum of its parts?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

lol, we'll see I guess. It's only days away now. I wonder if our opinions will match. These two critics seem to have disagreed with you slightly.

As for innovation, there was a big woop made about Uncharted 2 not being innovative, which it isn't, at all, but it perfects many other formulas, so it is great. Innovation wasn't necessary in that game, I wonder if you would have said the same thing about it before the reviews came out.

Is the embargo lifted? If it hasn't been, these guys are in pretty big trouble and like other unknown sites they could have just given the game an extremely negative or positive review so that they can some attention. If the embargo's lifted though, then it shouldn't be a problem and these guy's actually wrote a pretty decent review.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Greater than the sum of it's parts, of course, but if one of the parts isn't perfect, how can the overall game be perfect with an imperfect component?

Just giving some thoughts to answer. I'm perfectly fine with the score they gave it.

Pretty much what I thought.

I mean, check out the second website... Come on, these guys aren't credible and to be honest they're most likely playing pirated copies.

UC2 was the 2nd game though, Halo is a 10 year old franchise and appart from the graphics it still feels very much the same as Halo 1. Not saying that this is a bad thing.

So the first reviewer isn't aware that there will be more Halo games, just not from Bungie. Way to start off a review by letting everyone know that you don't know what you're talking about.

I expected this to be the best Halo ever and anything less would be a colossal disappointment. Can't wait to play it.
