Forums - General - My Granddad just died :-(

I'm really upset right now. My Granddad passed away at 6:15 this morning. What I'm most upset about though is that I got the call that he was on his deathbed and I rushed to the hospital as fast as I could, but unfortunately by the time I got there he had passed away. I didn't get to say goodbye, I really hoped I could. The last time I saw him was when he came to mine last Sunday for lunch, and I think I knew then that it was probably going to be less than a week.

Officially he died of pneumonia, but he had a few illnesses over the past couple of weeks, they all accumulated, and yesterday he went in to hospital.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can't really say anything else that would help you feel better. It's a shame you could not get to say goodbye to him. I know how that feels like. Just try to give yourself some time to come to terms with what happened and again sorry.

My condolences

My uncle passed away last Tuesday too

My condolences as well, i don't personally know how that feel to lose a loved one, as i have never been in great terms with my family, nor ever had that strong relationship with anyone, but i am sorry for your loss again.

My condolences. My grandfather died when I was about 6 of a heart attack. It was all unexpected, so I never got to say goodbye either.

How old was he?

Both my grandfathers died, and two aunts have died.

Sorry for your loss.

Well he lived a long and (hopefully) full and happy life.

My grandfather died in his early fifties.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I can't imagine it if one died so young. It must be tough.

...

Actually, you guys may get a kick out of this. He used to build the housing for the very early computer systems back in the 1950s/60s, back when they were the size of rooms. We think Atari's old school, he's from the proper old school.
