I'm really upset right now. My Granddad passed away at 6:15 this morning. What I'm most upset about though is that I got the call that he was on his deathbed and I rushed to the hospital as fast as I could, but unfortunately by the time I got there he had passed away. I didn't get to say goodbye, I really hoped I could. The last time I saw him was when he came to mine last Sunday for lunch, and I think I knew then that it was probably going to be less than a week.
Officially he died of pneumonia, but he had a few illnesses over the past couple of weeks, they all accumulated, and yesterday he went in to hospital.

My condolences. My grandfather died when I was about 6 of a heart attack. It was all unexpected, so I never got to say goodbye either.
How old was he?

87, so he had a good innings.

Thanks guys. Your support really means a lot.

Well he lived a long and (hopefully) full and happy life.
My grandfather died in his early fifties.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I can't imagine it if one died so young. It must be tough.

Actually, you guys may get a kick out of this. He used to build the housing for the very early computer systems back in the 1950s/60s, back when they were the size of rooms. We think Atari's old school, he's from the proper old school.
