It wasn't a club where everyone was dancing, it was more of a pub where everyone was sitting at tables talking.

Ya I realize this thread kinda died down, but its first read to me.
Interesting to note, most gaymers here seem to find themselves somewhat at odds with effemenite gays. Most seem to say they act and are attracted to straight acting or straight guys. Funny how its the same for me. Maybe gaymers tend to be more into the bad boys or macho men who show more of a masculine side.
I like video games, some sports, hot guys, and pretty much dont enjoy everything fashion, shopping or even remotely "lady-like".
But thats not to say I have anything against the more outgoing gay guy. I fully embrace that that is who they truely are, and are just acting like themselves. It really is sad to see some people in this thread say "why are they acting so strange" or "why dont they just act normal".... to them, that is their normal, they are being themselves. Of course it seems foreign and strange to you. And if it weren't for these "publically gay" people, there probably wouldn't be rights for any of us at all.
I think it was Cliffhanger who said it, that they always tend to fall for the straight guy, and even thinking of being with gay people just seems so uninteresting. Same thing for me. It seems so strange and weird, but its the truth; funny how I didn't think there were that many like-minded people.
And I don't find it offensive when people say "thats so gay", but it totally reinforces negativity to the word, which in and of itself is homophobia. So to the dude with the animal house avatar, just make a mental note that its not the best choice of words.
The Buddha Maitreya accepts people of all fully consensual orientations.

Gilgamesh just doesn't know how to pick his gay bars... I assure you they exist.
Signature goes here!
^ They exist like straight bars for men where half naked women dance, or straight clubs for women exist where half naked men dance, and so on. You have your choice of a pub where its just a bunch of guys getting a drink or a club with strippers and such.
I have to say I am not one to visit a gay bar. I have friends who where ever they visit they "must check out the local gay bars/clubs/villiage". I don't get it as I can have a great time anywhere, but do what you do. Same feeling about anything "all gay" (campgrounds, resorts etc), to me it seems like alot of people who are "exclusive" to such places are almost hiding, afraid to just go out and hang out with anyone. Gay Day means nothing to me, I can get a group of any of my friends, straight including, and have a good time anywhere.
I do understand the appeal of visiting these "gay" places once and a great while, but to visit these places exclusively seems so narrow minded and limiting.

I have just met an awesome guy, but he is just like me in many ways (including the awesomeness :P), that's why we use to discuss and each one sticks on his position. What can you tell me to solve the things ? Leave him alone and get an easy-going guy ? |
Well, what are the topics that you clash on? Both of you being set in your ways isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you both agree on all the things that you (and he) think are important. If the things you don't agree on are smaller, I'd say to keep him and just agree to not talk about those topics. But if his disagreements challenge the very core of who you are... it'd be best to find another guy...
