Microsoft looks like the NEW Sony they think they can sell whatever they want at any price witouth any consequences... i hope they are wrong at that what happened to Sony at 2006 / 2007 will happen to M$ aswell so yes im hoping Kinect FAILS! No language support to Mainland Europe aswell... its a joooke.

Microsoft has always been a little too confident in itself. Because they use their money to dominate. They use it, come in and take over. But the gaming industry is very odd, todays leader could be tomorrows low ball.

Everytime I come to VG Chartz I keep coming up against US gamers quoting the full RRP (Recommended Retail Price) for games. In the UK many of us hardly ever pay the RRP, there are constant price wars between online and main street retailers, for example Halo Reach I'm getting for a little under £38.00 new when it's RRP price is £50.00. 1 year Xbox Live I got for £33, it's RRP is £40. Surely it's the same thing in the US?

It isn't. For some strange reason everything in USA is full price.

Games in UK are dirty cheap.

Usually Amazon, I just start shopping 1-2 months before buyging live.  Whatever the case, Cheap Ass Gamer always has deals.

Dell.Com had a deal a few weeks back for $29.99. I myself will be switching to the $99.99 family account.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

"New Arcade Models with kinect at 299$... This is INSANE"

 

Uh what? Insanely good deal! The Arcade Kinect bundle is a $50 discount over buying the two item separately. How is that a sign of overconfidence? Also none of those items approach the ludicrous $599 launch price of the PS3, nor do any of Microsoft's comments approach the absurdity of Ken Kutaragi's statement that gamers will get a second job to be able to afford the PS3. Microsoft still has a long way to go to reach the level of arrogance of Sony.

 

BTW I'll remind you that this console generation started with Microsoft selling a 20GB hard drive accessory for $100 and a USB Wi-Fi adapter for $100, so I don't think that much has changed with regards to hardware pricing.
