Depends on how many PS3-only owners are fanboys.  Seriously, if they have any sense, they would be highly interested and it would sell quite well.  I personally would be surprised if a ton of Xbox owners shunned Uncharted, MGS4 or GoWIII if they were ported.  Quality is quality and hopefully in the end that would matter more to PS3-only owners than some perverse sense of ... loyalty?  Is it even appropriate to call it that?  Doesn't feel right.  Anyway, Bioshock ...

Anyway, this is all a hypothetical and would never, ever happen so its impossible to ever know for sure.  But FFXIII is definitely not a good example to use as a basis for this discussion.

Dude, that's harsh. Maybe PS3 gamers just have different taste than 360 gamers. I play on both, but PS3 is my lead and I really don't like Halo. Most of the people I know who own PS3 don't like Halo and they don't even come on forums or anything. The two consoles have their different audiences, I'd be willing to bet that if God of War 3 came to the 360, it'd sell maybe 1.5 million in comparison to the PS3's 3.5 - 4 million.

What's harsh?  I called out all fanboys of either system for turning away a game that is very high quality just because its associated with a rival console.

It really comes down to WHY people would avoid it.  If its because they don't like FPS, I can see that and respect it too.  Personally I don't really like them either, but Halo is one of the few that has won me over.  But if its about something irrational like the hype behind Halo games, that is something I personally have less respect for.  Disliking something JUST because its popular is just too irrational for this rational male.

Personally I think GoWIII, Uncharted and MGS4 would sell quite well to the 360 audience because there aren't games that do what they do better on the 360.  As good as the PS3 versions?  Well of course not, just as Halo wouldn't do near as good on the PS3.  But if they ended selling sub 2 million I would be disappointed in the 360 crowd.  But it wouldn't be the first time, though, would it Banjo . . . ?

I think that if God of War 3 were released on Xbox 360 it would sell as well as Bayonetta, Devil May Cry 4, and/or Dante's Inferno did on Xbox 360. That's 66k, 1.25m, 55k respectively. And if Halo Reach were released on PS3 it would sell as well as Killzone 2, Resistance 1, and/or Resistance 2. That's 2.37m, 3.71, and/or 1.92 respectively. I'd leave COD out of it because it's a different sort of game. Sci-Fi shooters appeal to different types of people than COD style games.

So I think if God of War 3 were released on Xbox 360 it would average out to a total sales of 45.7k. Halo Reach on PS3 would average out to a total sales of 2.66m.

There are approximately 45.7k button masher fans on Xbox 360 that would buy God of War 3 and approximately 2.66m FPS fans on PS3 that would get Halo Reach. It's possible that these game's brand names could have an impact on their sales, but I think this is the bare minimum that they would sell. It's not about guess what ratio it would sell, it's about looking at what the genre sells on each respective platform.

Good point and good job with the research.

Thanks. I just think it's important to factor in how each system's audiences tastest effect sales. I do think it's odd that Xbox 360 fans and PS3 fans don't have the same general taste in games. That's probably why they argue so much.

it would get 2 million sales. if ps3 owners wanted to play halo they would get one. i dont know any ps3 owner which likes halo.

you must only know fanboy playstation 3 owners. I got a bunch of friends who only have ps3s and have a blast playing halo at my house. They just don't see it as such a must have to buy a 360 just for it. They would defenitly get it if it came out for the ps3 though. Likewise my friends with only 360s, love playing god of war 3 and uncharted 2 at my house, and would buy them if they came out for the 360. Im not saying it would have the same sales on the ps3. But half of them is very possible.

so now your calling my friends fanboys? i demand an apology!

and also one of the reasons resistance and killzone bombed is because of call of duty, all of my friends( which are casuals) didnt like them because you zoomed with r3 and because their wasnt kill streaks. theyr not going to accept another franchise. also halo isnt a popular brand in my country so they woudnt care.

usa is not the world!

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

about 4-5 million...

Well I think the first halo sold a million or so copies on the pc so I think it would definetely sell a couple of million copies. But it certainly wouldn't be as big as it is on the xbox.
