I still dont think the move will succeed. There is really no hype for it at all...
and their is hype for kinect?
In london, most news media are hailing Kinect as the 2nd coming of gaming so...yeah...kinda.
the media arent gamers, theyr just the media. i cant imagine one halo/gears fan who is excited about jumping up and down. even though it doesnt show that move is going to be a sucess among ps3 fans it is going to be one. the core titles will make it a sucess.
Umm isnt the point of Kinect/move to expand the audience, well beyond the core gamer? Move really wont capture that, and if its selling to the same PS3 owners(which wont be as much as you think) then thats gonna be a loss, especially since i dont see alot of PS3 gamers going for it.
On the other hand like ajescent said, Kinect seems to be generating hype well before its release date. I mean look at the preorders...
lol first thing we dont know move vs kinect pre orders because sports champions pre orders not equal to move pre orders.
also the pre orders of kinect adventures doesnt mean their is hype from the non 360 owners. because if someone who didnt own a 360 pre ordered something it would be the bundle, and not kinect.
for move not being baught by core gamers, after all of the positive feedback move has, why woudnt core owners buy it. ofcourse some people wont, but many are going to buy it, if you look at comments on youtube or ign, many people are saying that they are waiting for core titles to buy the move. also if you look at polls about move on this site, many people here are buying move. which is a good indicator because people here are core gamers.
as for kinect and move expanding the audience they are both going to fail at it. ofcourse their is going to be a boost in sales, but this far into the generation theirs little they can do, also we have seen with declining sales of the wii that the number of casuals who are interested in consoles are decreasing.
