Forums - Sales - Preorder charts for visual people(I like graphs):Reach MW2 Black Ops GT5

whatever...it's not like this "pre-order" data is very comprehensive...I wouldn't rely half as much as I would rely on sales data around here, and that's not very trustworthy either. If there were some public "official" numbers for pre-orders being tracked by some company I'm willing to bet this site would be "adjusting" its own numbers to those, too...

GT5 is for the hardcore, NOT the masses.

prior GT franchise sales don't reflect that statement at all.

In fact its 100% the opposite.

Not neccessarily.  No one is stopping the masses from buying something not targeted towards them when marketing and hype first draws them in.  GT is a quality hardcore product/franchise.  The hardcore normally sticks with it while some of the masses might find that GT also appeals to them as well.  I just wouldn't be surprised if sales are lower than expected because the masses seems to be attracted to shooter and sport games these days.

EDIT: And motion control.  ;)

I see what your saying now, your saying that GT5 in particular will be a mostly core game and I agree with that, I think the masses have moved over to FPS like you said.

I thought you were saying all GT games sold only to core gamers and not masses and I was like, you don't sell 10 million units without the casual market.

Exactly.  Thanks for helping me clear that up.

Too bad there aren't EMEAA pre-orders, GT5 probably has a ton of pre-orders there.

Yeah I dont know where to get that info.

EMEAA and Japan pre-orders aren't available yet on VGChartz. Give it some time, I am pretty sure it is being worked on.

Also the graphs are a little cluttered, but give a good representation of where certain games are in relation to each other.

That's cool. I would love to see worldwide pre-orders! GT5 might not be huge in America anymore but I gotta think its still MASSIVE in Japan and Europe.

well done

I hope Reach can keep above MW2 for total pre-orders.

I'm hoping Call of Duty: Black Ops does beat Modern Warfare 2 for the first week and lifetime sales, Treyarch deserve it.
