Forums - Gaming Discussion - Black Ops Full Multiplayer Reveal

Holy shit. If you thought Bungie jammed enough content into a game, Halo Reach; take a gander at Black Ops. Treyarch has certainly out-done themselves with the 7th iteration of the Call of Duty franchise: Black Ops. Slated for release on Novermber 9, here are some details from the Multiplayer reveal Liveblog from earlier today.

Combat Training: Offline multiplayer with friends or solo against bots.

Another new change is a batch of special weapons that players will get in Care Packages -- including the Death machine and Grim Reaper.

Other killstreak rewards: Napalm Strike, Gunship, Mortar Team, the Radio Controlled Car, SAM Turret (it takes down a chopper).

To expand on the concept of unlocking weapons they're adding COD Points.

Gambling is also coming to Call of Duty.

Wager Match - you ante up and put your COD Points on the line and wager on matches. The top three players split the pot.

Sticks and Stones - you're equipped with a Crossbow and Throwing knife.

Gun Game - A series of progressive weapons, from pistol to shotgun to sniper rifle, granted to the player after kills.

Players have a special attachment to their weapons -- so they can place clan tags, decals and more on their weapons.

Differently painted guns with custom targeting reticules and decals on everything.

Flamethrowers, sniper rifles, shotguns... everything can be customized with stuff you've earned and unlocked.

There's also an emblem editor.

There are decals that you can rotate, scale, layer and be placed upon a background.

Theatre Mode: Switch the player between any players perspective -- first or third person -- or free cam to move within a 3D space.

In the Theater, videos can be tagged, edited, searched...

at first i was impressed but then i told myself why do features matter if the basic gameplay is terrible, if their is camping, and if its going to be another noob fest. i prefer playing naughty bear.

Its pretty much going to happen dude. The average life-span in COD games is like a couple of seconds so camping can help extend that life by a few seconds for some extra kills. Whenever I encounter camping, I switch my strategy to rocket-pawn, so I can get them from afar to save on assault ammo.

other then camping the basic gameplay is mediocre at best, the guns have no recoil and the sound is terrible. moh looks a million times better, but their are kill streaks!

I hope it doesn't get destroyed with hackers and glitchers the first week it comes out like MW2.

"Verily, on the Day of Judgement, your deeds will be brought back to you, as if you yourself were the creator of your own punishment."

I'm officially excited for the game now. Those matchmaking modes seem to add a great deal of variety to the mix.

But...where is the zombies mode?
