Forums - Gaming - Huge Red Dead Redemption mistake!

the game calls bison buffalo , but that is incorrect as buffalo are found in asia and bison are found in north america. you would think developers would know more about animals. also i know of many actual native americans that make the same mistake

They are commonly called American buffalo, so it's not really a mistake. The misnomer has taken hold. Deal with it!

Doesn't matter.  People call bison buffalo all the time so it's an accepted term even though it's technically incorrect.  I have a pack of buffalo burgers from North Dakota in my freezer.  The package says buffalo.  So it's not really a mistake because people in the USA use it both ways and it's an accepted term.

As an american I have always called them buffalo. I've heard bison before but never knew they were the same beast. Buffalo is what they should have used as that is what most americans call them.
