Seriously, though, over $10 a year?

Personally, I can't imagine anyone "quitting" XBL over that unless they're either A) taking a high moral ground against MS profits out of some sort of imagined general principle, or B) realizing that they hardly use XBL anyway and that the $10 increase is a reminder that they don't need to be paying money to play on their Xbox anymore for something they weren't getting use out even at $50 (or $40 or whatever they paid) a year. 

Most of the latter simply won't renew their subscriptions when they expire, but that's hardly what anyone could consider to be some sort of mass exodus from XBL. Those who are already fully invested in the service will either shrug it off, or bite the (cheap if you use it regularly) bullet.

It may also be because PC Gaming is now cheaper than Xbox 360, and some people are reminding themselves that due to the fact that most Xbox 360 games are on PC, they might as well jump to PC.

But you still can't play Halo Reach so whats the point of going for just a single platform?

Microsoft: damn let stick it to them and use Inflation as an excuse...  ha, ha, ha

Sony: what inflation ?  I care about the economy, I let the player play online for FREEEEEEE !! ain't that the standard no?

Microsoft: but if I let online for free for Silver no body would have an interest in upgrading to gold ..

Sony: so your using online gameplay which is free on my console to lure gamers into paying for apps that they dont want nor need but still have to pay that fee because thats the only way they would have access to online gameplay?

MS:that sounds cool but understand this, pay to play COD black Ops and halo: Reach online, or miss out, dude they have to pay me first to play nad its been working since so why change.

Sony: keep doing what your doing, -I will add extras, free stuff, apps for a premium, but I will keep whats the been the norm and that is, let my users feel free anytime they want to play online.
