Oh, and if we want to talk about greedy, we should remember that:
- MS does online advertising in Xbox Live, despite the fact that it's a paid service
- People are already paying for the games, which on any other platform entitles you to play online
- Many (almost all?) of the games are actually played by P2P connections, requiring few or zero servers at Microsoft.

Crazy people don't realize they just raise the prices slowly to make people feel like its not much. Really its just trickery and its possible it could rise again. People would be so used to paying to $10 a month they would be like hay its only a couple bucks more and I love live and am addicted. I am so glad I own the 360 and PS3 because when I'm sick of Halo" REACH I'll just jump back to PS3.
Also beer companies have been raising the price of beer for months, years even, but people hardly complain because the process was done slowly on purpose to give the addicted public time to adjust to higher prices.

Seriously only in the dillusional world of Online Videogame fanboy wars do people argue FOR price increases if its "their" company.
Seriously, theyre raising the price on a service theyve been touting and analysts have said is a cash cow and youre STILL argueing in favor of it? Absolutely batshit insane considering the same service (facebook, netflix online game) is free to most other gamers.

.84 cents more a month (that's if you have trouble finding the dozens of deals always out there, which is even less) is not getting "rammed" anywhere. It would be if it was $10 more a month. |
You have to pay for your games, and jsut about ALL games on LIVE are P2P, so you are actually paying for jask shit. Also, isn't there advertising in LIVE? Correct me if I'm wrong on that last one.
When you get a game on the PC (for at LEAST $10 less) you get the game, you can also play online for free. Even better, most games, the ones that don't blow hard, are on dedicated servers. I get 9 ping on a public server in CS:S for example, and I have seen 20 ping on some L4D servers, while you are stcuk at playing well over 100ping. For something you paid for.
If that isn't sodomy with a splntered broomstick, then I don't know what is. Like I said, I am amazed people actually praise that sensation. Thank you for proving my point even further.
Edit: Oh yeah, all those "AWESOME BADASS ZOMG SERVICES FREE!!!1111!!" that you hype up for so much, I also get for free. You know, Netflix, facebook, online indie games.

If it provides something so I wouldn't have to go through the laughably ridiculous hoops and ladders your sig indicates, then I'm for it all the way. By the way, moving past the two or three ads on the dashboard requires moving the left thumbstick with your thumb. Oh the humanity!
I do find it weird that people are actually defending this when PS3, Wii and PC all have the ability to play online for free.
In the case of PC the service it offers is actually better, especially where it counts as nearly all PC games have dedicated servers, mods and services like Steam offer the extra features of Live anyway.

So your defense is to comment on friend codes (which only one competing platform uses) and saying the ads are no big deal...

Yep. Pretty much. Oh, and I have no problem paying an extra $10 for Xbox Live. I think that about covers it for the time being.

I would love to hear your defense against the PS3, or even better, the PC.
Also I can;t help but laugh at your sorry defense for advertisment.
