12 months in the UK stays the same from the looks of things. Bend over and take your medicine, US.

I don't think it will, I expect a £10 rise yearly for the UK.

Ugh, that would make £50 a year just to play Halo: Reach. It's the only reason I renew XBL now.

It's a big enough increase to piss people off but not big enough to stop a large chunk of the XBL userbase from renewing. Shrewd buggers.

It shouldn't piss anyone off with a shred of logic in their brain.

Because they wouldn't be paying for Gold in the first place?

Most Impressive

Where's Akibafan when you need him.

Learning english?

Don't be mean, just cos he loves cats!

If the XBOX and LIVE prices are increasing it's mainly due to perceived value.

On the brand stock market XBOX and LIVE are going up while PS3 and PSN are going down. How ironic...

So Xbox Live gets to increase in price because of infaltion but not video games?

Video games have been 60$ for as long as I can remember here. I won't complain though :/

Correct e if I'm wrong, but when did they got $50 to $60?

I know as of late some prices in the uk are above the standard £40.

Well I live in Canada so that might be different for the US but I haven't witness a change for a long time (actually forever in my life). 59,99$ is the common price.

almost every new game is $70 where are you from?

Quebec. Again, that might be part of the difference. We are a country of our own after all :P

KIDDING KIDDING!

Does everyone notice that if u just shop online u get live subscriptions much cheaper anyway

I get my subscription for £20 every year online, and those prices wont change(or at least not much) because MS is the only 1 changing the price

End of 2012 prediction:

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

dont think any one will care/notice but interesting none the less

new owners or people buying the new console who are hard core gamers and online is a necessity to them are going to be looking to spend close to $400 on there purchase if choosing the 250gb sku

i would never pay for online get what i need with PSN basic service, free demos weekly and free online gaming all that other stuff like early access and ect means nothing to me

MS should offer a bundle deal like 5ys of XBL for like 160-$200 or allow silvers to participate in multiplayer online gaming imo

The issue here is Microsoft are successful with their online proposition where as it's cost Sony a fortune running theirs.  One of these models is sustainable long term, the other isn't you do the maths.  I guarantee you Sony will charge for PSN when they release the PS4, they've had no choice this gen as they had to use free PSN as a selling point to justify the higher price point of the PS3.

I personally think they should open up party chat to silver members, I'm sure that would bring in some extra sign ups when people realise the fun they miss out by just being a silver account.

Again, you're gonna be stuck next gen. Sony don't give it out free because they love you ...

Reporter:  So Don, the 360 has just enjoyed a full year of consistant profitibility.  For four straight quarters you guys have been in the black, a first for the Xbox brand.  The console is truly at the height of its success, with revenue from Xbox Live subscriptions and Arcade sales eclipsing 700 million and a billion dollars a year respectively.  What you guys have done is incredibly impressive.  You must be immensely proud of yourselves over at MGS...

Don Mattrick:  You know, we are.  We really are.  And with the recent launch of the 360 S combined with the upcoming launch of Kinect and a new dashboard, the 360 is by no means slowing down.  This year should be our strongest yet!

Reporter:  So what are you going to do now that you finally have a strong positive cash flow from the 360 and Xbox Live?

Mattrick:  Raise our prices!
