It looks like COD Black OPS will actually outsell Halo Reach on the Xbox 360 if the pre orders for it keep up. Also good for Fable 3 pre orders they got quite a big boost I wonder how it's doing compre to Fable 2 pre orders.GT5 seems to be fluctuating from 6-10 thousand a week doesn't seem to be increasing that isn't good for it my estimates is that It wil do 7 million worldwide and I called it that Fable 3 was going to outsell it eventually in America and people didn't believe me.
As for Move and Kinect, Move doesn't look like it's going to be a success with only 2 weeks to go and only 26,000 pre orders not too good for it maybe that is why Sony said this week they didn't expect big numbers for Move the first day so the press don't bash it when they see the numbers. As for Kinect it seems like it will do modestly with 99,000 pre orders but it won't be what Microsoft is hoping for as in Wii like success but it still has 10 weeks to go so it might surprise us but I doubt it. I'm only a little optimistic for Kinect only because I haven't seen any advertising for it on TV yet. |
god you are like micheal pachter. 1st week isnt equal to life times sales, especially with gt5. pre orders are good. look at forza it did more then 10 times what it had first week. also people dont understand that sports champions pre orders arent equal to move pre orders, or if it will be a sucess. some people might pre order the wand alone, or they might pre order the nav controller and the wand. also titles like killzone 3, socom 4, sorcery show you that move's sucess isnt determined by a good launch.
wanna bet about gt5 doing 7 million world wide? unfortunatly well have to see in 3-4 years. the terms are one year sig/avatar control and the looser cant post in sale threads for 2 months.

so what? point is if another game in the franchise releases 6 months after its going to halt the sales of the previous game released. god seece, you cant have an open mind. also if you look at it the first 6 months of halo 3 sales are about 72% of its sales. so if halo 4 released 6 months after it would have had a 30% decrease. which is a lot. if gt5: prologue teaches us anything is that racing game have legs. look at forza. |
I am having an open mind, your whole example is just confusing though.

true 8 and 2 million are very far away but i was just saying that any games sales will stop if a sequel came out after 6 months. and i showed you how mainly upfront games get heavily effected.
and next time il try to clarify things in a better way :)

Everything happens to the opposite of what I say. I said the Wii would go up and up and up and now its going down down down and the flames are getting higher. I also predicted the 360 would be replaced in 2010 with a new console and we got this BS slim revision. So my saying GT5 sales are disapointing = 15M LTD confirmed!
Tease.
For everyone saying GT5 sales were disappointing.
Look at it this way. Most games these days sell 70% of their total sales within the first month.
-Look at MW2. ~50% of its sales were in the first 2 weeks.
-GOW 3 sold about 40% of its sales week 1. First two weeks were over 50% total sales.
-Halo 3 sold a third of its sales week 1. First two weeks put it over 40%.
However, GT games don't work the same way. They sell a maximum of 25% of their total sales week 1. GT4 only sold 24% total sales week 1. It took a full 10 weeks for GT4 sales to reach half of its total sales, something that doesn't often happen anymore. VG doesn't have full sales records for GT1-3, they only have Japan... but theres still data to be had there. In Japan, games often sell MUCH more than 50% of their total sales (for JP) week 1. Look at FFXIII, it sold 79% of its Japan sales week 1. FF12 sold 78% of its JP sales week 1. GT1 and 3 sold 26% and 30% respectively in JP week one. Pokemon does similar %s in Japan. This is why people say that these franchises have 'legs'. Their sales don't peak immediately and die off within a couple of weeks. They ARE NOT monstrous 1st week sellers. They won't sell 5 million week one and then decline 85% for week 2. DO NOT EXPECT MASSIVE PRE-ORDERS more than 4 weeks from release.
GT will do just fine. GT4 sales for US/JP/EU were 770k/670k/1070k. Wait until the GT5 release and compare first week sales. Remember. GT4 only sold 2.5 million first week and went on to sell 10.39 million. By comparison, MW2 for the 360 sold 5 million week one and is at 11.4 million now. Double the opening week (2.5 million more sales) yet has only outsold GT4 by 1 million overall. Just because a GT game doesn't have a cataclysmic opening week (pre-orders) doesn't mean it won't still sell very well.
