FINAL FANTASY 13 VERSUS

Pffft, you just want to see some meltdowns.

Nomura wouldn't dare. He got bitched out by PS3 FF fanboys for even responding or blinking in the direct of a multiplat Versus.

Yeah, it's a very controversial topic indeed.

I'm kind of on the fanboys side here (as ridiculous as they are at times) because SE promised this would be an exclusive using PS3 technology.

Same here, in the sense that keeping it exclusives will have them focus only on one version and make sure it will get the most out of this one. I would prefer less multiplat whatever the system is the exclusive on.

xcom? damn am I the only one who saw that game? :S

I already have a rotten taste in my mouth because that series has been turned into an FPS.

yeah I know exactly what you mean...while it looks interesting something tells me it will be meh.. :P reason why I don't care if it stays console exclusive to the 360

Exclusivity isn't an issue for me, I support all platforms. It's just the first three games were some of the most groundbreaking strategy games I've ever played. Ever since, it's gone downhill due to the changes in gameplay. This pretty much takes the cake.

I think it doesnt make any sense to get the Xcom trademark then release a FPS, what a dumb move. I was greatly dissapointed when I found out.

I have to agree, as I've mentioned in an earlier thread, I would be pissed myself, as making a game multiplat midway through development will only cause compromises and delays, no matter what platform it was lead-developed. That, and as you said, I want to see how far they can push the PS3 technology.

Honestly, square enix is MS best bet for exclusive games.

Square Enix giving Microsoft quality exclusives? Excuse me if I laugh too hard. Microsoft will have to pay them up the yin yang where as Sony pays nothing much like most of whats been happening this gen. Microsofts had to pay for a lot of titles in the past two years where as Sony pays nothing.

Sony has also paid for all those games that Microsoft paid for.  Except instead of money they paid for it in lost marketshare.

What about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and others? Microsoft basically paid for its development (Namco admitted it) and a lot of Japanese titles that Microsoft paid for timed exclusivity to Sony. All of the games turned out superior. It was like a handful of games in 2009.

Its ok, Sony paid for most of Microsofts research and development on their CPU.  So that $400 million will certainly pay for a lot of exclusives.

I love when people use this pay for exclusive thing, it really kills them when they see the following link.

So Sony, thanks for all the exclusives you enabled me to have, as a 360 owner I appreciate it.

Microsoft coud have as well use this suppose 400 million from Sony to have more first party studios. The point wasnt how Microsoft earn the money they spend. Sony paid for R and D on a new CPU (they had to, microsoft or not), it has nothing to do with STAGE's critic.

Interesting history (thank you), but irrelevant from the point that Microsoft spent money on more pointless things than they should've. This pointless thing would be the timed-exclusivity when they could've used that money towards new devs for quality IP's. Sony has gotten away with more on a game development front in terms of payment than Microsoft ever will and Western and Eastern companies back then because, yes, they're reliable. Thats good work for Microsoft on getting Sony and other companies to pay for their chip....when Sony probably paid even more to get a superior chip. Are you trying to make this look like Microsoft takes Sony's table scraps because I'll give you another one. Sony had their eye on Project Natal first.....but they turned it down. Microsoft soon after bought the developmental project Natal.

Thanks Microsoft for showing me what Sony could've potentially had but turned down in so many ways. At least I can enjoy what you and Sony both have to offer in your own unique ways.

Explain to me how it has nothing to do with it?  Obviously they saved hundreds of millions of dollars when Sony paid for the research.  And are using it to better the 360 by purchasing exclusives so it has everything to do with it.

So many here make fun of Microsoft for "purchasing 3rd party exlusives that Sony gets for free".  And I just showed you that 400 million pays for a lot of those.  So if anything Sony is just getting a little of its money back, they shouldn't have been so foolish drawing up CPU contracts.

Nice spin, however its all bs.

Sony was ignorant and foolish when they were drawing up contracts for their CPU.  And when you say Microsoft was getting Sony's scraps thats an even bigger joke.  Sony's first batch of processors was complete shit and that is why they failed to launch at the same time the 360 did.  But unlike Sony, Microsoft thought ahead and had 2 facilities that could produce the chips and this actually caused them to launch ahead of time.  A year early and on Sony's dime thanks again Sony.
