what's impressive is PS3 software WW over the last six months or so....
most weeks it outsells 360 in software World Wide, I think it's the remnant of last year's PS3 slim, as newer PS3 owners buy older software

Tie between PS3 and Wii... nice.
But the 360 in Japan... I didn't really expect it to go down to its' old level in sales, and the slim probably won't really have an effect there. Great numbers WW though.

And why is that? Considering it essentially tied sales with PS3 this week, and PS3 has about 35 million less sales than Wii, shouldn't PS3 also be in trouble?

Wii is in trouble because for the second year Nintendo didn't push the Wii like they should, saying games sell hardware...that's true but new IPs and new genres, not another 3D Mario or another Metroid or another 2D platform. They don't want to be like their opponents, launching new models, bundling, with price cuts every year and with third party exclusives bought; but really, this has worked for 2.5-3 years, now they're just killing the console too early IMO...

Wii has been on a constant decline since 2008, while PS3 and 360 have been on the rise since then, I think that's what he means. To the point where Wii has fallen to its worst weekly sales ever and the other two are having their best years yet on the market. If this trend is anything to go by, Wii could be in last place next year.
Wii is in a very delicate situation, with 3DS launching late this year, Nintendo will probably shift a lot of resources towards it, meaning Wii will get even less support than what it got this year. Plus Nintendo also needs to have SW for their next home console, which has to be developed right now, considering the long developing times, even more when it comes to a new console. IMHO 2011 will be Wii's last breath with some major Nintendo support, with 2012-2013 being residual years where it gets the usual 3rd party multiplats/casual games and a few minor games from Nintendo. I totally expect a new home console by them before Q2 2012. Holidays 2011 in Japan.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

It was released through amazon on the 17th but i have just recently found and bought one at best buy yesterday
When the 360 and PS3 were around one thousand units apart, it was a statistical tie. Now, the PS3 and Wii are a thousand units apart and its suddenly a win.
