there is 6 pdf core book's 1 errata..but there is many other Inquisitor sources material.

yes you can even make a space marine character!..they are tough!

I've read most of the Gaunts Ghosts novels and must say they are really good. You get a good view of how bleak things are for a normal grunt in the 40k universe.

Those are my favorites along with the Horus Heresy series.  Sadly I haven't kept up to date on either since I don't visit bookstores enough lately. 

My absolute favorite 40k book is the Gaunts Ghosts novel where each chapter focuses on one of the ghosts and their best exploits.
