If you've seen the downfall of the Final Fantasy series, you see why Sakaguchi is so high in demand. Him not being around since after seven caused FF quality to go down. I doubt Microsoft would want to drop Lost Odysseys quality.

I highly doubt Kinect is anything the Japanese will want, but....again....I could be wrong. They already have the Wii, PSP and the 3DS made by Japanese companies and Nintendo is still reigning on that front. I doubt Microsoft will change much. They'll find more to do with the move than Kinect, especially seeing that the Move will have larger Japanese dev support.
surely they will announce the waffle maker attachment this year. i can just feel it.

LOL....name a western gaming dev Asians love more than Blizzard. ::Cricket:: ::Cricket::

That's ironic you bring up the western gaming devs when Microsoft own the company responsible for one of the highest selling western releases in Japan....(DKC made by Rare). |
The Rare you speak of back then is not the Rare today. Microsoft essentially lost the Rare they purchased the second the Stamper bros left. Microsoft own the shell of Rare. The Rare of old is gone friend. DKC was lead developed by Rare under the supervision of Miyamoto and Nintendo heads. Nintendo unlike Microsoft watches out for their IP's. Donkey Kong Returns is being lead developed and produced by some of the Nintendo devs who worked on the series on the SNES. The Stamper Bros will most likely be proud of the product.

???????????????
Never said that. Never even implied that. But the truth is that there were notable Japanese developers that were highly interested in it.

So that being the case, I was simply pointing out that, for that level of interest, we haven't heard about projects from them outside of the aforementioned game. So it COULD be that those were being saved for TGS 2010.

the point is not letting the ps3 take off in japan

Capcom already siad they are working on a hardcore kinect game (bringing back an old franchise). Sega also said they are working on a hardcore title.
I don't think you can could Microsoft out for making announcements. They did announce Halo:ODST in Japan and not at E3.
Just want to play good games
