I really hope somebody from nintendo looks at this chart and realises that it's time to create a new donkey kong game, because this is what i miss most since rare left.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

Nice list, though Wikipedia also has one near the bottom of this page:

It would be nice if you added the number of games counted as part of the series when providing the data.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

VGChartz Resident Thread Killer

I can't add the number of games for each series as I used press releases for the data that almost never mention the number of games. Some series were not updated such as mario, but all series are up-to-date by 1 year old at maximum except Tetris that dates back to 2005. (excuse my english I hope you understand what I mean).

Nintendo's got a lot of franchises that get neglected due to too few developers. At least they finally realized Metroid can sell.

yes that's true but the others are not as extreme as donkey kong, because most of the other franchises developped out of the mario franchise (wario or yoshi are examples) while it even is the other way around with donkey kong.
