Black Ops? Maybe.

All shooters this gen? Definitely not.

To be fair it's not got much competition in terms of critical aclaim and how amazing it'll be, COD4, MW2, TOB and Bioshock are it's only real competitors.

I was under the impression that this was opinionated.

So far this gen for me:

Killzone 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> F.E.A.R. 2 > Halo 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Everything else.

Isn't everything?

Your opinion that KZ2 >H3 is a null point though, because the mases go against that. Gets to the point where overwhelming popular opinion overides any one person's opinion, you may like that game better, and think it's better. But it isn't.

Seece, IMO you are so wrong here. Have there ever been times in your own life's experience where you preferred something that wasn't popular? Even with something simple like music or movies? It seems a little immature to tell someone what is best based on what the masses think.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

it's a sticky subject, after all all the millions that bought wii fit, and it only scored in the 80's? (I think) so clearly not one of the best games in all existance, that doesn't mean it isn't a very good game for what it is and for the masses.

I'm not gonna bring film or music into this, because it's a different kettle of fish IMO. But in terms of reviews/metacritic/gamerrankings (and yes I know some of you absoloutely loathe this, but it's the only form of how to sort the best from the best out) only the very best reach the top, and that means achieveing more than just FUN (again I'm expecting Nintendo fans to say something here.) Obviously having fun is the main part of a video game, but what makes FUN? it's a compilation of a lot of things, graphics, sound, story, gameplay, replay value and lots of other little bits.

So when a game sells 20 million, but scores 70, and a game that sells 5 but scores 96 happens, it doesn't mean it's a better game.

I should have been more clear tbh, I don't think sales of a game are an indicative of how amazing a game. SO I really meant in terms of reviews.

I don't agree with reviews. Most companies are sellouts to the highest bidder. MW2 was a prime example.

Well, since Free Radical exploded (probably the most lame thing this generation), and we haven't gotten any TimeSplitters games, Halo: Reach will probably continue the four player FPS splitscreen greatness that Halo 3 has already started this gen. Modern Warfare 1/2 were pretty good, but there's very little out there like Halo's multiplayer shenanigans.

I doubt it'll reach the single player masterpiece of the first Bioshock, but there's only one way to find out.

I'd be stoked if it is anywhere near as good as Bioshock.

Well, they're going to be completely different, so I feel somewhat bad for even comparing them in the first place.

Bioshock's FPS element was just a portion of its gameplay, while Reach will be a more traditional FPS single player experience. Still, with space battles, co-op, and other cool stuff, I think Reach is shaping up to have an awesome single player to compliment its awesome multiplayer.

I agree 100%. I'm just hoping it gives me the same feeling I had playing Bioshock for the first time. The whole entire time I was saying to myself how incredibly awesome it was. The first Gears did that to me too. Oh and Combat Evolved too, of course.

Cannot wait for the game, I doubt it will be the Best FPS this Gen, but more then likely the Best this year.
