Forums - Gaming - Capcom: "We're Never Going To Have Another RE5 Controversy"

I dont care what they put in as long as they make it SCARY, like 1-2-3 and the 1st half of 4

Well shouldn't have been controversial to begin with.  If it were a black protagonist killing mainly white zombies, then there wouldn't have been a complaint.  People need to chillax with things like this.

As for the quality of the game, RE5 was a good game, but not a good RE game.  Story was completely ridiculous and the game offered very few memorable moments.  I mean if you are going to do a story like that, don't tie it in a lot to the older games in the series.  RE4 had a good mix of that as it made some ties, but for the most part was game that rested purely on itself.

What I want to see from RE6 is more like what we got from RE4 and with a mix of RE1... or mainly the puzzles.  I haven't found any RE game to be scary, so really not too worried about that, but keep the atmosphere creepy at least and the intensity of some of the battles in the series.

I don't think RE5 sold well just because RE4 was awesome, look at RE3 it sold less than RE2 and it was obviously inferior and half the lenght while RE5 sold better than RE4 (even with a huge PS2 install base).

Capcom just tried to keep up with the times deliver a great game and make a nice profit, I like RE5, I think is great as I play it (like a co-op buddy 80s Zombie Movie, me and my brother cracking jokes at the ridiculous story) but I don't think they can do that again with RE6 it will fell "franchise fatigue".

PS: Sorry for my english not my first language

We all know coop sells so capcom did what they had to do to sell a lot, I agree with that.

The problem is that I can't think of a single thing RE5 did better than any other similar game. RE series used to be a trailblazing series that other games are trying to keep up with...But RE5 is significantly worse than a lot coop buddy shooters and its definetly not even close to RE4 as a single player experience.

Its still a fun coop buddy shooter...but so is Army of Two. Kinda sad that those 2 games are comparable to be honest.

Exactly, is a great co-op buddy shooter but really not worthy of being a true sequel maybe Capcom should have made it a spin off like RE Zero but maybe if Capcom did that it probably wouldn't sold that well.

Lets hope Capcom find the perfect balance between survival horror and action (again) and manage to keep it fresh for RE6. Its definitely my favorite franchise along with MGS.

RE5 should have been called "resident evil outbreak golden edition- the game we tried to make in 2004 but failed due to ps2 sucking at coop online" :)

Hey, I liked RE5... I got RE4 on PC and it's horrible. I'd be down with more RE5 kinda stuff.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

That "controversy" was bullshit anyways.... Some people spend all of their time searching for something to call racist, and it's pathetic.

Sorry, I'm still bitter about those asshats.

Game wasn't nearly as good as I wanted or expected it to be (they pretty much made ashley older, gave her a gun and said, "go help Chris") but it was still decent. Everything prior to the fight with Wesker is just filler... ;)

That fight made up for a lot of crap.

I survived the Apocalyps3

i liked RE 5,

but i'd prefer to be walking around a huge mansion and gardens in RE 6

lol, thats like saying...

"I like Mcdonalds...but once I went to Harveys and someone took a shit in my food, it was horrible. I'd be down with more Mcdonalds..."

Everyone knows that the PC version of RE4 was butchered beyond belief.I find it unplayable even when I play it in 3D vision, which it actually works with...

To have a fair judgement of both, you would have had to play the best version of RE4 when it came out and RE5 when it came out.

I really liked RE5 though and I hate McDonalds. I assumed the PC version would be superior, how was I to know that the PC version would be butchered, I probably should have known since it came free with Elements of Might & Magic. =/

Still pulling the racist card is bull, I didn't see any controversy for killing spaniards when playing Resident Evil 4.
