I don't think RE5 sold well just because RE4 was awesome, look at RE3 it sold less than RE2 and it was obviously inferior and half the lenght while RE5 sold better than RE4 (even with a huge PS2 install base).

Capcom just tried to keep up with the times deliver a great game and make a nice profit, I like RE5, I think is great as I play it (like a co-op buddy 80s Zombie Movie, me and my brother cracking jokes at the ridiculous story) but I don't think they can do that again with RE6 it will fell "franchise fatigue".

PS: Sorry for my english not my first language

We all know coop sells so capcom did what they had to do to sell a lot, I agree with that.

The problem is that I can't think of a single thing RE5 did better than any other similar game. RE series used to be a trailblazing series that other games are trying to keep up with...But RE5 is significantly worse than a lot coop buddy shooters and its definetly not even close to RE4 as a single player experience.

Its still a fun coop buddy shooter...but so is Army of Two. Kinda sad that those 2 games are comparable to be honest.

Exactly, is a great co-op buddy shooter but really not worthy of being a true sequel maybe Capcom should have made it a spin off like RE Zero but maybe if Capcom did that it probably wouldn't sold that well.

Lets hope Capcom find the perfect balance between survival horror and action (again) and manage to keep it fresh for RE6. Its definitely my favorite franchise along with MGS.
