My (admittedly-limited) experience with the genre came up with this list:

1. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly

2. Clock Tower (yes, a f***ing SNES game--try it, I dare you).

3. Resident Evil

4. Resident Evil Zero

5. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

there are horror elements but I wouldn't exactly call it scary, great game tho well worth checking out especially on PC.

I may have been an easily frightened kid when I played Eternal Darkness...but man is that game actually frightening in comparison to just about anything on that original list, lol



Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...
