Forums - Gaming - Crysis 2: Consoles startlingly weak, PC very promising

Well if you watched the original demo's that they had for the environments of Crysis 2, the PS3 version actually looked alot better than the 360 version. Mind you that was just a demo.

I remember those demoes, they looked similar.  One thing I did remember though was that the urban areas looked better on the 360 than on the PS3.  But the forested areas looked better on the PS3.  But who knows for now.  We'll just have to wait and see.

Oh so for the title of this thread 'console' means Xbox360 since there wasnt anything mentioned about PS3. =P

As well its obvious PC will always look better than any console games. (Comparing multiplat that is)

What's this?!?!?! Games look better on a $1500 PC than they do on $300 consoles?!?!?! I haven't heard news this shocking since I was informed that one call to Geico could save me 15% on car insurance!

Paragraph 3: Depends on the context. Compared to an always changing platform like the PC, of course they aren't. Compared to the Wii or past consoles, they obviously are vastly more powerful. Again, anyone who boasts about "x" platform against a much weaker one in some sort of contest is an elitist, plain and simple. It's fine to accept/know/understand that one is more powerful. It's another thing to bring it up at every opportunity.

For the most part we agree, just a few points I wanted to elaborate further on.

Bringing it up at every opportunity puts overzealous console fans in their place, and it's fun.  If they want to gloat about graphics all the time (even though nobody buys a game primarily based on gfx unless it is overwhelmingly different/better, which the 360 and PS3 aren't), then they need to stop crying when they get bitch slapped occasionally for getting out of line.

What's the difference between a console fanboy and dog shit?

You don't go out of your way to step on dog shit, lol.

I don't follow such close-minded perceptions, but feel free to do so. Just don't expect to be taken seriously. And trying to tell me that being overzealous is the answer to overzealous behavior makes you hypocritical, no matter how you choose to spin it.

dito

I played Crysis (demo) with everything on high, and it looked good, but these console games are matching up to it.

I have to disagree, the urban areas seemed to have  more detail , better lighting ect in the PS3 demo.

I feel sorry for you if you ever paid $1500 for a PC that can play games. You wasted pretty much half of it.

Anyway, how much did your PC that can't play games cost? $600?

Not everyone have the same budget. 1500$ for you may represent 100$ for someone else.
