NSFW: How to advertise a scary movie on Chatroulette

Aug. 20, 2010 (12:56 pm) By: Matthew Humphries

Until now the scariest thing on Chatroulette was flicking to the next person and seeing below their waistline. But the clever people marketing a movie out next week came up with a much better use for the video chat service.

The video above shows the reactions of some Chatroulette users to an advert for The Last Exorcism. To begin with it’s just a cute girl looking as though she’s about to undo her top. But then it gets a bit scary, and for some people a bit upsetting too.

This is not safe for work, and I suggest turning the sound down a little too when you watch.

LMAO! That is awesome!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

O_M_G!!!!

That is the best viral marketing I have ever seen. We want more!

Haha, I love that.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

WHAT IS THIS? why did she stop undressing???

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

That.... was not scary in the slightest.

HOLY COW !!!

that was cool !

My only dissapointment with the video is that it immediately tells you it's a trailer for a movie.  I would much rather after the screen goes blank have it simply sit for 3-5 seconds and let the person react.  Even better, it would be cooler if she knocked the camera over and let it sit silently recording an empty corner for several seconds before finally showing the URL.

Other than that-- genius.

awesome

Great idea, but can be perfected.
