Okay to be fair, there was one one proper full Halo title on the 360. ODST was almost an expansion, and Halo Wars is a fan game, not a BIG blockbuster Halo. Halo 3 came out in 2007, and in 2007 PS2 was still the dominant system. I'm sure a lot of people considering to upgrade consoles have forgotten about Halo 3, so Halo Reach will push consoles, and a lot of them.

Also, just like how the White PS3 doubled PS3 sales in Japan, a limited edition Halo Reach Slim 360 will also push sales drastically.

100k in a week, that seems reasonable to me, as it's not just the game, but a limited edition console as well, overall it probably will push more consoles since you still have to consider the European and asian market.

100k in a week, no problem, lifetime it probably will boast 360 sales a lot more because if Halo does well, 360 does well this fall.

BTW kowenicki I completly agree with you. I would also like to add that Playstation 3 had Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which is one of the best selling PS3 exclusives, so it's not like gran Turismo is completly new to the PS3 either.

halo wars is a fan game??????????

big blockbuster or not, once people get alot of title of same franchise they don't like it as its not the cool new game for the casuals

a white ps3 was coupled with hdd upgrade and a big game release

your ps2 being dominant argument is just invalid as alot bought halo 3 afterwards too

i know limited edition 360 could do well but do you really think one week a console is 200k and the other week it goes upto 300k,not gonna happen

it could happen over the weeks though

if halo wins,360 doesn't win this fall it will be because of the redesign, halo,if kinnect is big

and even that won't happen as wii will do but 360 will be close

abt the GT5P thing, lol you youself make an excuse about HALO odst calling it an 'expansion'..........lmao and then you are arguing over the same point that you are taking it as an excuse youself and GT5P was atleast not full priced expansion as odst but $40 and had alot more content for its price and a demo.

weird that people think halo reach is gonne sell massive amounts of x360's   even thou there are already 2 halo games.

but gt5 wont sell that much ps3 even thou there is noo normal gt game.

i expect at least 100k ps3 sales in gt5 japanese launch.

i never knew that gt was bigger then monster hunter. this is good news.

MONSTER hunter has never been good on consoles but portables

look at PSP's MH2P at 3.90million in japan

REACH will sell consoles but GT5 will sell way more

people are wrong on these things:

reach won't sell any 360's

reach will sell alot of 360's

gt5 won't sell many ps3's

i think a monster hunter on ps3 can move units in japan. monster huntri tri made wii reach 93k units sold the week it launched. it didnt sell alot but its not like the wii has a big audience for such games.

i agree with you people expect reach to keep 360 on top till fable comes out.

wii doesn't have the audience?

this is japan and not na or europe, hardcores buy wii there too

yeah PS3 could move PS3 units in japan more than wii did and sell more but would it be worth it to invest in ps3 mh game as mh wouldn't sell that much other regions

i was talking about numbers. not casuals and hardcore, my mistake.

true but if its treated as an exclusive and gets a 95 it can sell well. i dont think it will be worth it but its possible.

it will sell just 2-3m even thats high and capcom could do far higher with their MH3 PSP AND more portable titles

Weather or not Halo Wars was ever released, it would not affect the sales rate of Halo Reach. The only people who bought Halo Wars are Halo fans, Strategy game fans, or people who just want a good non FPS 360 title. No one is going to think "hm... I have Halo Wars, so I don't really need Reach now." They are completly different games.

big blockbuster or not, once people get alot of title of same franchise they don't like it as its not the cool new game for the casuals

In english? Like I said Halo Wars is a completly different game from Halo FPS's, and it attracts a different audience.

a white ps3 was coupled with hdd upgrade and a big game release

Still doubled sales, and Halo: Reach is a much bigger game, and the 360 Slim Halo edition comes with some pretty sick decals, not just...white.

your ps2 being dominant argument is just invalid as alot bought halo 3 afterwards too

Don't understand your message, Halo 3 outsold Halo 2 by about 3 million units, and considering the fact that the 360 base was smaller then the X-Box base at the time, thats amazing. Yes new 360 owners did buy Halo 3, but generally games make their biggest impact at the launch of the game. There are exceptions like Mario Kart and Wii ---.

i know limited edition 360 could do well but do you really think one week a console is 200k and the other week it goes upto 300k,not gonna happen

Yes it will, one week PS3 doubled it's Japan sales only off a white model, why can't Microsoft do the same with a sicker limited edition model, and probably the best selling HD console game?

it could happen over the weeks though

if halo wins,360 doesn't win this fall it will be because of the redesign, halo,if kinnect is big

and even that won't happen as wii will do but 360 will be close

360 won't beat Wii, but it will beat Sony. All Sony really has is Gran Turismo 5, thats just not enough to compete with Kinect, Halo, and a Slim 360. Yes there is also LBP2 and Fable 3, but Move isn't going to push consoles. Alalyst estimate that kinect will sell several times better then Move.

abt the GT5P thing, lol you youself make an excuse about HALO odst calling it an 'expansion'..........lmao and then you are arguing over the same point that you are taking it as an excuse youself and GT5P was atleast not full priced expansion as odst but $40 and had alot more content for its price and a demo.

You don't make coherient sentences. I don't mean to insult you, but I'm have a hard time trying to decipher this last point. I mentioned that Halo 3: ODST was not a full pledged Halo game. It didn't even have an online multiplayer mode, and multiplayer is the bulk of Halo. It was a good game, but ODST wasn't really a system seller. Halo Reach, along with Halo 3 are on a completly different level from ODST and Wars.

and don't argue content for price. GT5 Prologue had like 70 cars, and 12 tracks for $40, where Forza 2 had over 300 cars and 50 tracks for $60. Thats why I skipped out on Prologue.

capcom would have though they could cash in on the wii's high sales but  they were wrong

or

nintendo did a deal with them to make mh name attached with nintendo more than their competitor

Not sure, but, maybe after Reach releases.

GT5 release, I think.

14- 18 seems sensible so that's what i voted for.

its been confirmed today that GT5 has a weather system, track editor and go karts! seriously i think this is going to be the best selling in the series even beating GT3 sales of 14 million plus!

I think last years surge for the Wii will not happen in the same way this year. The main reason for this is competition.

Japan I think is the biggest spoiler for the 360. The PS3 will get a bump from Move and GT5 but I believe they will be easily countered by Reach and Kinect. Japan may be just enough to spoil the party though.

I am surprised at myself but I think they could actually go 29 naturally any number of unknowns could throw a spanner in the works.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

I see it outselling everything until like February.
