I did bail out of the original debate after making my own prediction (which actually might be dead-f***ing on depending on how the rest of the week fares... Wii Fit Japan does 10% of Halo 3 WW opening week)... But you're right, there's no reason to keep it up. John knows he has zero chance of having either one of his predictions come true at this point, whether he admits it or not.

No not exactly, believing something like you just said is like believing Bush's words (no offense but that's common sense), believing a prediction like this that comes from a man with more brains than most of us is like believing Martin Luther King, who probably was a little bit wiser than Bush now is.

 If he doesn't then we can see what he does, if he doesn't admit he was wrong at that time, feel free to PM him so it doesn't affect the board as a whole, right now his prediction that it will surpass WW is still possible, however unlikely you might consider it

Ummm, nice flamebait. Oh, and have you read any of JL's posts? They don't make any sense at all if you take an objective look at them. Might be hard for you to do that, because you probably don't read too much into them since you are entranced by the thought of the Wii selling 40mill next year, or WiiFit selling over 3.5mill in its first week in JAPAN ONLY!!! Talk about a joke. Although I do like how JL actually tries to back up his arguments, as offbase and out of touch with reality they might be, you gotta give the man credit.


So defending someone is now considered flamebait, i see..


No, implying rocketpig is jealous because he called out JL on his attention getting predictions.

Lingsys - I don't understand what's wrong with calling someone on the carpet for an insane prediction, then telling him to eat his crow when it's due. I respect some of JL's predictions...Which is why I am calling him out on this.

Why should you respect someone's 1-2 great opinions on sales, and not judge the ones that are insane.

Right now, he's calling for Nintendo to move 40 million Wii's next year alone. I'll gladly post a huge rebuttal to it soon. But don't you understand that the majority of his predictions (3.5m Wii Fit debut in Japan, 60m Wii's by EOY 2008, 240m LTD Wii before succuessor) are just so ungodly wrong, that someone has to say he's wrong.

But I'll post in a bit in his thread, explaining every single reason he's wrong. I don't want you to think that I just want to randomly troll threads about him. I have my reasons, and will gladly share :)
It was 40 million next year?  I thought it was 40 million total next year.
