I have come to the realization that I don't think it matters that 360 has a weak game lineup people will still buy the system. It does really well in the US and UK and the only place it is a real failure is Japan. People have been saying since 2008 that Sony has had a better software lineup and for my money they have yet the 360 continues to survive on the backs of 3rd party multi-plats. It really is the strangest thing, for my money blu-ray> dvd, reliable console > rrod, quite> loud, better software> mostly multi-plat. Yet, 360 was not only able to overcome those short comings they flourished. The comes the S, which takes away a couple of main deficiencies adding wifi, fixing rrod, making the system quiter and the system takes off again.
So as a Sony fan I hope the no blu ray and weaker software lineup catches up to the 360 but as realist it probably wont matter

Thats bs. For one Microsoft has had an amazing software lineup since launch, and I prefer the exclusive lineup over the PS3 lineup. Look at 2011, PS3 has GT5, LBP2, GoW3, and Heavy Rain. 360 has Halo: Reach, Fable 3, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Mass Effect 2. Microsoft has had a very strong exclusive software lineup, to say otherwise is just favoring PS3 exclusives over 360 exclusives. Also speaking of better software lineup for your money, go to the store, hopw many good PS3 titles are under $20? Not many. 360 has a lot more, multiplatform titles are cheaper used on the 360 by at least $5-10 per game, and a lot of the old "timed exclusives" are half the price or less of the PS3 counterparts. Why would I pay $45 for GTA: Episodes from liberty city on PS3 used, when I can pick it up for $20 on the 360 used?
Also the Fail rate was fixed with the HDMI model of 360 way back in 2008, your just using that to hurt the 360 image to prove your point now.
Blue-Ray has nothing to do with gaming, and with the ability to download 1080p movies for free stright off your Xbox or PC, why does this matter?
Thats the only thing Sony ever had on Microsoft, that and the noise, which is fixed with the Slim model, and really isn't that bad for the old SKU 360. It's just a fan blowing.
Microsoft has a better online network, and achievements for ALL games, it also comes with the option to only get the 4 gig arcade model now, and thats a bargan because why do I need a 250 gig hard drive on my 360? Saves only take up megabits, and a 16 gig thumb drive to expand the memory is only $10. 360 Slim Arcade is a huge bargan.
I mean I have never filled up my 20 gig 360 hard-drive, and I have map packs for many games, and The Shivering Isles on it. I did take an old 8 gig hard drive I found recently to use to transfer my profile for when I visit a friend (because on 360 you can have two profiles logged onto the same console, and both get achievements), and to store old saves onto, but still 20 gigs was plenty.
I have both a PS3 and a 360, and to be honest I only play my PS3 for exclusives, Multiplatform games almost always play better on the 360, and used they are significantly cheaper. I can also use two accounts for two players, have a multi-game party... The whole 360 network is just a lot better then PSN.

I agree the 360 does have a significant amount of cheaper timed exclusives. And I won't argue with your gaming preference but you did forget Yakuza 3, MAG, White Knight Chronicles, Mod Nation Racers, MLB The Show 2010, and 3d Dot Game Heroes. The point was since 2008 the general consensus PS3 has had the better exclusive lineup and it hasn't affected sales much.
Yes the hdmi version improved RROD but did not fix it completely.
You argue blu-ray doesn't matter because you can download movies, yet you talk about how you don't need space but the Dark Knight at 1080 16x9 is 11.1 GB.
Without any movies or music on my system I have filled over 200 gb on my PS3.
I won't argue that Live has the better integrated experience but I prefer the price of PSN over Live and I enjoy not listening to a dozen 12 year olds with mics.

What General consensus are you refering to? I never took a poll asking me which had better games. What defines better exclusives? Number of titles? Average ratings among them? Sales per game? Also I missed a LOT of games from 2010, more on the 360 then PS3. Here I'll name them all.
360 - Alan Wake, Champions Online, Crackdown 2, Deadly Premonition, DeathSmiles, DECC0, Espgaluda 2 (Japan Only)Fable 3, Halo: Reach, Ketsui: KJT EXTRA (Japan Only), Mass Effect 2, Metro 2033, Monster Hunter Frontier (Japan Only), Ninety Nine Knights 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Supreme Commander 2, Tropico 3, Two Worlds: The Temptation, Also 13 exclusive Kinect games for 2010 (there are more, but not all games are exclusive to Kinect, also not including Fable 3)
PS3 - 3D dot Game Heros, Atelier Rorona, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, Last Rebellion, MAG, MLB: The Show, Mod Nation Racers, Steambot Chronicles 2 (Japan Only), Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll (Japan Only) White Knight Chronicles, Yakuza 3, plus 12 exclusive MOVE compatible games (Not including LBP 2).
So that is 14 360 games, Plus 3 more for the Japanese Market and 13 Kinect exclusive titles. For outside of Japan, thats 27 360 exclusives in 2010. For PS3 there are 11 exclusive titles, Plus 2 more for the Japanese market. For outside of Japan, thats 23 exclusive PS3 games.
There was also Yakuza 4 and White Knight Chronicles 2 in Japan for PS3, but for the rest of the world they are 2011 titles, so I won't count them as 2010 titles. I only counted 2010 games released in Japan if they are not being released in North America.
As for 2009 there are 34 exclusive titles on the 360, and 21 exclusive PS3 games. I don't know how many of each console are limited to Japan only, but basically there were 1.5 as many 360 games in 2009 as there were for PS3.
Finally for 2008 there are 28 exclusive titles on the 360, and 18 exclusives titles on the PS3.
Just for kicks, in 2007 there are 34 exclusive 360 titles, and only 15 exclusives on the PS3.
So it look like no matter what year it is, Microsoft has more exclusives games.
You can always argue the quality of some titles like Ninety Nine Knights 2, and Infinite Undiscovery, but 3D Dot Game Heros and Lair didn't get the best scores either.
As for hard-drive space, how the hell did you manage to fill 200 gigs? Did you download every DLC possible? Because map packs don't take up that much data.
As for downloading movies, you can download movies on your X-Box and transfer it to your computer. My computer has over 3 Terribytes of Data (external drives), but I only used up about 2 TB.
As for your last comment on 12 year old kids with Mics, that clearly shows you have a bias to the PS3. I have both a PS3 and a 360, and I almost never hear 12 year old kids with mics playing games. Sometimes I do in Halo 3 when I play around 8 PM, but thats it.
You may argue I have a bias towards the 360, and I probably do because I see myself standing up for that console more then I stand up for the PS3 (mainly because this website has more PS3 followers then 360), but I am only arguing that there is no general concensus on which console has better games. It really depends on what type of games you like and when are you looking for a console. This year 360 has more shooters and RPG's, some really good ones too, but PS3 has more racing and actions/adventure games, some really good ones too. Thats how I look at the market.
Edit: P.S. I counted Mass Effect 2 as a 360 exclusive for 2010 because it is still currently an exclusive. I did not count past timed exclusives like Bioshock, Tales of Vesperia, Oblivion, etc. However I did include console exclucives, but most exclusives were proper exclusives and did not have a PC version on both the PS3 and 360.
