Ok. My Resident Evil thoughts.

Resident Evil 5 is a better third person shooter than Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 4 was a poor game. How it reviewed well is beyond me. Resident Evil 4 had by any standards bad third person game controls. Now heres thing. It wasnt at all scary or tense either. The whole point of Resident Evil was to shit you up. Resi 4 and 5 did not do that. They tried to keep the suspense by making you fire when stationary and all that bollocks. But in the end you had 2 games where it lost 'ALL' suspense and had 'BAD' third person controls.

Alan Wake is how third person controls are done while keeping suspenseful atmosphere.

Now the video in the OP. Yes I totally agree. It has gallons more suspense than anything in Resi 4 or 5. They should have stayed completely away from third person view unless they were willing to give it proper responsive controls and learn how to do suspense in third person.

Yes the video in the OP is definately what REsi 4 should have been.

No, RE4 is one of the best games of all time and it's perfect the way it is.

It would have pleased it's userbase more this way, but who cares about loyal userbase and fans when you can get more money doing a better game for a larger audience.

The camera in that video looked awful.  I don't think I would want to play a game like that.

If i wanted to control tanks, i would play a tank game. no thank you...

RE4-5 controls are fine for what they are, a action game, not a horror. If they copied the design of AW and applied it to RE, then something magical would happen.

I wish that RE4 was made that way. =/

I hated the direction Capcom took RE4. It wasn't scary. It wasn't survival. It was a horrible RE game.

i miss the old sulvivar horror RE
