This is actually a potential reason why not releasing the original first game on PS3 might actually be a good thing.  I know a few people who tried the first game but couldn't really get into it (either because of the sub-par combat, tedious inventory/loot system, repetitive side missions, etc.).  Mass Effect 2 largely improves on those aspects, in my opinion, so players might not be as prone to being turned off from the series starting with ME 2, than if they played the first game.

Whilst true, I still think many would prefer to play the first game first, me included.

I'd've preferred if the first game had it's mechanics tidied and updated. I cannot say how happy that would have made me. Shame it will never happen...

It depends on the bonus content. I have played ME 2 through a couple times and got my 1000g, so I don't need to play as a different alignment.... but it was just so damm good

If it includes all pay for DLC and some unique content I could get it for resonable price (around 10-12 pounds) but i'm not that interested since i finished it on pc. And I also have to go through ME1 and ME2 again to have savegames ready for ME3.

Yes I agree.  In a perfect scenario, Bioware could release a revised version of the first game on the PS3 (that aimed at fixing the first game's flaws), but it really does seem like Microsoft has the first game on lock down, so an interactive introduction before playing ME 2 is probably the next best thing.

not sure, i always ment to get it on my 360 but just never got around to it.  i was mostly dissuaded by my being a trophy whore so that issue is fixed now.  i think i'll wait for the reviews...if they prequel/intro part is done well enough to make up for the lack of ME1 then i'll buy but otherwise i'll probably pass yet again.

now the the PS3 is hacked I think i will pirate it......lol

 

if i find it good then i will buy it

 

or if they release some bous content and change the game a little like they have said
