Forums - Gaming - Xbox advert criticised by advertising watchdog for using Playstation images to promote game

This is dumb and sets a bad precedent.

Game publishers have always shown the lead console in advertisements and then shown other consoles at the end. Does this mean the next Madden has to show 52 different ads?

If the games are intended to provide the same experience it shouldn't matter, whereas in Madden (so I used a poor example) it could be argued that the Wii version needs its own ad seperate from PS360 since there is deliberate difference in user experience.

IMO, not when the difference in quality is so noticeable as many reviews for FFXIII pointed out.

So sad indeed.

It happened before already. I remember when someone advertised a Wii golf game showing X360 screens.

It's not the first time to happen.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Bwahahaha! My complaint went throu-

Erm.

Well. Shame on you MS. Shame on you SE.

Shame. Lots of it!

The issue wasn't using the PS3 footage but the fact that the ads never mentioned the PS3. The Madden ads are able to use whatever images they like provided all consoles where the images come from are mentioned.

Who cares,it's just a commercial. I agree that it was false advertisement, but I'm not going to get so upset and start crying like a baby. Did'nt that viewer have anything else to do in life. People always want to get upset, just for the sake of getting upset.

Actually, no it took DF to point it out. After that reviewers jumped on the bandwagon. Even then saying it's not noticeable.

PS3 doubling for XB360? Unsurprising, it simply does everything!
