"The 3D effect is much better and it adds a nice depth to the game. Am just going to play all the standard games with this conversion."

Does this mean that you can convert any game (Like Uncharted 1 and 2, etc) to 3D? And if so, Is this done by the ps3 or by the TV?

You can play any game on any console...

Its done by the TV, some 3D TVs have it and some dont. Works pretty good for games, not so good for movies like OP said...

but its not stereotipical 3d.. it's upscalled and shitty.. I've seen it.

Sure it is. Its stereoscopc 3D. However TV is the source which calculates the 3D offset, not the game/movie.

Its exact same method of showing 3D however results are far worse since TV doesn't have any clue in calculating proper 3D depth. Half of the time the effect will look right while it looks off at other times.

When you get a 3D enabled game, it calculates the covergence axis for best results...unless that game is Invincible tiger which is shitty even after being 3D certified :)

Also all the PS3 3D games are converted from standard 2D and it is way too early to see full potential. Lets wait for GT5 and K3 to see much better 3D.

Agreed. I will check PS3 out again in 3D when Killzone 3 is out... I'm getting the adapter which will make PS3 work on my TV as well as soon-to-arive 92 inch 3D projector :)

While I would never argue that the experience isn't really nice, I still think its a waste of money unless your a kid with no real friends and your parents don't mind spending tons of money on crap you cry about. It could also be your an adult with no friends/family too.

Quite the contrary. I want to show it off to my brothers, neighbors and friends who are at my place every other weekend!

Also, everyone has the right to treat themselves.

Sounds awesome. just wanted to ask about Wipeout, and other such games. are they still in HD, or does the resolution have to drop in order to compensate for 3D. and do the games blur when your going into high speeds??

i'm glad to hear this is actully really good. this technology will no doubt take off when the price is more affordable for the typical consumer. but its great to hear that there will be a few people who can enjoy this and spread the word, and hopefully encourge developers to take an interest in it.

Ive just tried U2.Very nice. 2d->3d looks like those 3d postcards. The conversion is done by the TV.

I think resolution is lower 720p/per eye but could be wrong (at least Stardust looks full hd). No blurring. Glad Sony is pushing the tech.

3D gaming on your TV is limited to 720p. Only bluray is going to be 1080p... So even if PS3 was capable of doing 1080p gaming, none of the new TVs can show it... Its a limitation of the HDMI chip in them.

Both Wipeout and STardust are 720p which is still good. However they are 1080p games in 2D. I wonder what will happen when a 720p game in 2D is made in to 3D

ah I see, so its basically the TV that is stereotopic 3D, but the game itself is just being rendered that way because the tv displays it that way

Motorstorm Pacific Rift is a 720p game in 3d. You can see that gfx is not as good as in the other 3d games but its only a demo.
