ME2 is going to PS3 and ME1 isn't. Will this impact ME3?

Because Bioware's aim was to have choices made in ME1 and ME2 affect the story of ME3. But as PS3 owners won't have ME1 will these options go? For example the Rachni Queen, I'm sure there will be a major role for her in ME3, but will she be cut out now?

I hope ME1 decisions affecting ME3 won't be cut down due to this move, this is a worry many people on the Bioware forums which I'm a member of have too.

How the hell do all people know this? Nothing has been confirmed yet. We don't know what EA will make with ME2 PS3, so before you jump to all possible conclusions, let's just wait a bit and wait until slowly informationa re leaked. If it is confirmed that there truly no ME1 choices, you still complain.

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Yes, Silver-Tiger, we know for a fact that ME1 won't be on PS3. Microsoft has said so very, very plainly.

Now, as to this topic.

Christina Norman, one of the most visible team members for the Mass Effect team (she designed the entire combat system in ME2 unless I'm mistaken), has said, and I quote:

"me1 choices will have a big impact on me3"

This from her twitter.

its a worrying idea, especially considering this is EA we are talking about also.   but i still have faith in bioware to maintain their vision.

Does this answer your question?

Everybody should know by now that such comments are not final, just like with Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden etc.

And what I meant is that we don't how EA will handle the situation. It could be very well possible that the game will have flashbacks where you decide the future outcome. In this case, of course the PS3 version will have NO impact on ME3.

Exactly Exactly.

ME3 MUST be playable on a 360 with no ME1 (or ME2 for that matter)game data. That is no different in any way shape or form to ME2&3 being on PS3. It's mind numbingly stupid to think that a pre-requisit of playing ME3 on 360 is that you must have played ME1 and 2. It's quite simple really. If you load up ME3 onto a system that has no ME1 infortmation on it then the game will make some "default" decisions regarding things that would be affected by choices made in ME1. If you have the ME1 data then the game will bring those choices through into ME3. People really should think before they whine.

The only people losing out in this are PS3 owners, because they automatically get the "default" options, whereas the 360 owners get the choice as to whether they play ME1 first, or just go with the default choices.

That's assuming BioWare don't do something with the PS3 port of ME2 to bring those essential elements of ME1 across. It would still mean PS3 owners have a gimped experience of ME1, but they still get to make some of the most significant choices, and carry them forward. BioWare could tell the ME1 tale in a less interactive, Heavy Rain style where the story runs like a movie, but at certain points of the story you have to choose what you want to have happen and that then directs the game on an irreversable path.

So we know ME1 on 360 is exclusive, but what if BioWare ports the PC version of ME1 to PS3? Can MS prevent that?

There's a big difference between marketing and project members talking about the features and directions of their own games.

The PS3 version will have no impact regardless.

nope it better not if it does ima have to fuck some people up over @ bioware...anyway i hope me3 comes by the end of next yea the wait is killin me!

I am pretty sure they have accounted for this and you will be able to experience the full story on each system.

You do realize that EA had to negotiate with MS to publish ME1 on PC right? Somehow I don't think they would be so accommodating for ME1 hitting PS3.
