Forums - Sony - SCEA Releases PlayStation Move ‘Launch Brochure’ includes comparison chart?

Yeah not that bad of a chart. They didn't add the price comparison which is what most people mock Sony's comparisons for.

But I wonder what they actually meant in the motion tracking comparisons (like, what does mean "positional tracking"?)

I think Positional Tracking is for like when the controller gets thrown into the air, or moving around the body or something.

One of the videos of Move a while back showed the player throwing the controller into the air, the sword the character was holding also went flying into the hair and he caught it again.

Wii can't do that, don't know Kinect's limitations though.

If this were the case it would mean the chart should read N/A for Kinect like it does in the motion controller subcategory.

@topic: I hate when companies release comparison charts like this one because it seems to me that they're just being immature and trying to say haha, we're better than you for x, y, and z reasons - very school playgroundesque...  Furthermore I don't understand how pointer capacity can be "limited" either it is present or it isn't.  I much prefer the other chart that you posted Carl because it just highlights the Move, and tells consumers what they need to know about its pricing and various packages without taking shots at MS or Nintendo.  I think it's much more professional.

No it wouldn't read N/A.

It's supposed to scan in objects around your house. Like a toy sword for example. If you throw the toy sword into the air, I  would have thought it would also happen on screen.

It's yet to actually be shown in a game though (AFAIK) so i could see that being the reason for "Limited".

As for it saying Limited pointing on the Wii, no idea.

I see no game worth buying the move for. The only game that looks really worth it (sorcery) is missing in that list. Good brochure though.

Positional tracking means it knows the position in 3D space of the Move.

The only problem I see with the chart is using the term N/A, which mean not available, its usually perceive as missing a feature. But in this case, its not like Kinect is really missing a feature, they are comparing 2 different thing. Im able too!!!

                    PSP                    PS3

Display         yes                     N/A

Yes, but if your a consumer who dont really know what is PSmove and what is Kinect. What would you think?

Fair and informative, good route to take Sony!
