Forums - Sony - I'm trading in a few games this week or next

Basically I'm taking in a few of my games that I just don't play or have no desire to play again.  Such as Madden 08 (ps3)  Smackdown vs Raw 08 (PS3),  and Halo 3.   What games should I look at getting for my ps3?

I've been thinking about Uncharted and that it will go well with my library and want to get some feedback from some of you here on the site as I value your opinions.   Or I may wait a week or so and pick up UT3 instead, but I already have a great FPS in COD4 that I play to death.   Just looking for some better variety in my library.

I also just got Pain off the PSN and man.... Is that game fun!  If you haven't tried it, get it.  You'll love it!  It's only $10 and well worth the money.

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

You'll probably get more hours of entertainment out of UT3 then you will out of Uncharted. Although both look like quality games.

The way I solved that dilemma though was simple.

I pre-ordered both.

Edit: If you can only get one game though, and your looking for a bit of variety, then I'd reckon Uncharted is the game for you.

Don't forget -- Gamestop still has their 30% for 5+ trade-ins and it stacks with the 10% edge card so you can get 40% more on each game... I don't know how much longer it is going on but I believe it expires soon.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Hmmmm... did not know that about the trade in deal with Gamestop. I'll have to check that out and take advantage of it. Also another game I was thinking about was Assassins Creed. I will eventually get UT3, but for now, I have enough FPS's and I'm really waiting for Socom Confrontation when that comes out as my online gaming and killing game. :)

Have you tried Ratchet yet? If not, I say go with that.

I played the Demo for rachet and it seemed pretty cool, but it's not the type of game I typically would play. It would be a game that I'd tire of quickly.

What type of games are you into?

Shooters, sports, flying, adventure, stealth-type ones. I really like a wide variety of games, and pretty much I'm debating between 3 of them. UT3, Assassins Creed, and Uncharted.

Having played Uncharted and Assassins Creed (both finished last weekend), I would say that they are both worth a purchase, although it is probably best simply to rent Uncharted first and you can easily play it through in a few days, although personally it is a game that I can see myself dipping into every now and again, although YOU WILL DIE A LOT. It also has one of the best kept secrets ever, but I don't want to ruin it for you. As for Assassins Creed I really enjoyed the sci-fi element cause I like all the theorisising and stuff, and then for the actual gameplay, I loved being able to run around the city exploring, climbing everything, and it is a very non-linear game, completely opposite of Uncharted. To be honest, it just depends whether you like duck and cover games, or hack n'slash, cause they both have platforming although there is more in Assassins Creed.
They both have their flaws, Assassins Creed (only like 1 glitch in the entire game, where a guard got stuck on a rooftop, but that was quite funny, with the patch and 1 short framerate issue, although there were small slip ups that you would have to be looking for to find) has very lengthy cut scenes, and the story does not make much sense till the end. Uncharted is short, you die to often, there are a few plot holes and too many waves of enemies.
Personally, I only own Uncharted, and I borrowed AC of a friend, but AC is not that much longer than Uncharted (10-15 hours probably for AC, 8-12 for Uncharted depending of difficulty) which is my only real cricism of the game.
Personally, I am happy with CoD 4 'till the end of the year, and by then the Omega pack will have got me back to Warhawk, so I'm not sure whether it is worth getting Unreal Tournament III

jjseth just read your post. Stealth is not really necessary for AC, and is not an integral part of gameplay. In uncharted there is one part where Drake says you should sneak past, but I just shot my way through.
