so you hate good graphics in general

My exact statement is:

"I hate using an extraordinary budget for only graphics."

OK or good graphics are fine.

But put that budget to a better use!

Tell that to James Cameron. I wish he could have used the budget to something else than the special effects in Avatar. What a bad idea decision he made.

Movies are different than games. The standard for graphics in a movie is set higher than that for a game because you're always watching a movie. In a game you don't watch the entire screen, your mind is centered more about controlling the character.

Now let me say something about Avatar. The CGI was overdone. It could have been toned down more.

what better use

they have done everything there can be done

they have anple budget to go extreme with everything

just because some devs have low budget and try to make one area stronger and other areas are left unpolished doesn't mean devs with bigger budgets have to do that same

You think the best use of millions of dollars is to hyper polish every last detail?

Well, for example, Uncharted 2 is considered very cinematic, the graphics are actually making a huge difference on the experience.

And racing games can only be better with great graphics.

You think the best use of dozens of millions of dollars is to hyper polish a racing simulator?

yes and many people like the realism

and do you think when making games making an unposhed game is worth it?

TO AN EXTENT.

A mirror perfectly reflecting the sun is going a bit far.

Who said unpolished?

I'm talking about hyper polishing games. My complaint is spending too much time and money on making every last detail perfect.

My complaint is not about good graphics.

Well if they can do it, why not? It's very prestigious for them.

And it's a damn good thing that some company are pushing the technologies to the max. Otherwise, we wouldn't be so advanced technologically speaking.

why do you think its ultra polish

GT games basics are realism and polish and detail,if they don't do that they won't sell

and by polyphony's perspective even this isn't polished

Awesome graphics is advanced tech? Since when?

And they can do it. But I think they shouldn't.
