Prologue should have already resulted in a profit unless they are lying about the $60 Million figure

There is one problem for that though, darth. with each passing day that GT5 is not released, that figure is increasing everyday.

WE DON'T KNOW if Yamauchi included i.he should normally as he said GT5 as a game cost 60$.he didn't say till now

and the increasing figure you talk about would not be that much.even if it did then $70max

4 million copies and $15 a piece = $60 million revenue

No it didnt make profit yet.

I estimate dev cost $80 million plus $40 million marketing. Total $120 mill.  Still $60 million more revenue is needed.

you are fogeting that 1m downloads with full $40 have also been sold

plus ur estimate is wrong.Yamauchi himself has said the entire budget is $60m

marketing is another thing

even that will be covered in the first week itself

1 million downloads. Doubt it. That would almost exceed the highest selling Xbox Live game which is Battlfield 2943 or something. And PSN aint that big on downloads so thats highly unlikely.

Plus I doubt it still costs $40 to download.

Plus the budget of GT5 is far more than $60 miill. It was $60 mill over a year ago. By release it'll be at least 80 mill if not $100 mill.

this isn't a PSN or LIVE game.this is a full fleged title released from the starting on PSN

and i don't know of any BF 2943

IT was for a long time.sony doesn't cut prices on PSN.

they have cut recently since the PS PLUS started and they started releasing full games

you must have heard people ranting why PSP games are at full price on PSN and you can get it for less at shops

You are just posting whatever comes in your mind

it wasn't $60m year ago.Yamauchi said GT5 as a game cost $60m

and even if he din't it wouldn't rise $20 in just an year, more like $70 max and that $100 is just bullshit

I think its safe to say that after GT psp and GT5P that polophny is well in the black, and after GT5 releases they will be even more.... blacker

I just thought of something!

Actually games that are available on retail and released on digital download dont sell nothing on download.

Only games that are download only sell well (like 1943 and that game from Epic, forgot its name).

So I estimate about 200K in download sales of GT5p.

I don't get what some of you have been saying, that GT5:P couldn't have made enough money to cover the costs of GT5, I think it did, plus extras.

If the rumoured development cost was indeed $60m, and GT5:P has sold just under 5m, let's say 5m, they'd need to make $12 per copy in order to reach that, now, it is my understanding that first party developers would get more than $12 per copy sold, more than $20 sold infact, and even if the cost was much higher at $100m, selling 5m copies at $20 would cover the cost. The only thing they've got left to pay for using their own money that hasn't come from the sales of GT5:P would be the advertising costs.

it isn't rumoured

yamauchi himself has said it and its nowhere near $100m surely

oh so you trying more excuses

your saying doesn't make them not sell well at download.most games don't release on download on consoles so you can't take that excuses either

1943 wasn't a full fledged game,it was a PSN what the hell are you comparing it wtoo

lol your estimate doesn't make it to be true

Polyphony is more to be believed than you

So far Maybe. But if not it will the day it comes out.

As much as I want it to not make a profit, it probably did.

LOL why you want it NOT to make a profit?

To teach developers a lesson that having such an extraordinary graphics budget is downright idiotic.
