| KungKras said: A medieval fantasy RTS where fortresses with walls that you put units on similar to Battle for Middle Earth, only deeper- and realistic siege weapons play a huge role. There are boats in there too, and when there are ship battles, you not only need to control the boats, but the units on the boats weather you use your cannons, or board the enemy pirates of the carrabean style. And there would be dragons and fantasy beasts availible too all with unique mechanics to them. Cutting edge graphics would be sacrificed in order to have huge epic armies duking it out. |
i'm not really a RTS fan, but this could get me there. gameplay over graphic's? your halfway on your way.

did you try pressing undo while reposting? it works sometimes.
hmmmm, well im tired at the moment so ill be back with a cooler idea later (maybe)....so here is a random idea i thought up awhile ago:
squirrel:
you play as a squirrel from life to death (sort of). you make your own squirrel(species decides starting point). as you move through life moving from tree to tree, building to building, trying to survive, you have to become leading squirrel in the area. you find homes, look for food (especially hard in the winter), and avoid death through fighting or running....you also have to mate(but we'll get to that later ;D...) eventually you do enough "quests"(accepted from other friendly animals) and defeat enough enemies(rival squirrels, cats, ect.), you become leader of your own clan of squirrels. as you continue to take over other clans and expand, you'll gain more prestige. the game combines action(fighting, running away, stealth), platforming(...its a game about squirrels...) and some sim elements which comes along when you become leader of you clan(ordering squirrels to do stuff like find food or fight enemies). the game takes place in a forest set right near some farms and a suburban town. the town is attached to a highway which goes to a big city, so there is a pretty big game world to explore and try to become top squirrel in.
its pretty big and im thinking about taking out the whole clan thing...but then whats the point other than being a squirrel? i dont know, what do you guys think?

flight of the fire fly is a traditional turn based RPG considering it's an RPG you should know where this is going. a fancy sword swigging lunatic with a cross bow, guy with a battle ax, a female archer that will eventually master the elements, a chick with a book of spells, and summoning abilities and the most powerful sorcerer to ever live take on an even more powerful sorcerer. combining there abilities is key with a ever changing environment this would be one of the best RPG'S ever made. it's more like an active RPG. you have action type control's like uncharted. a platformer when your not fighting involving puzzles. the environment can be very traitorous and hazardous.any 2 or more abilities can be put together for a devastating attack from 1 or more characters. being able to chose the characters and abilities is key. even with the characters that can summon demons. even the archer with the elements abilities can summon warriors of the elements and combine that with other summoners to summon other demons. choosing which way you want to combine the powers to come up with different combinations and demons. |

cool i'm there
Just came up with an awesome idea (IMO).
Here's the premise: Take the classic 2d beat 'em up genre seen in games like Fatal Fury, Streets of Rage, Castle Crashers, and Scott Pilgrim. From there, infuse all the elements of modern 3d action games like DMC, Ninja Gaiden, GoW, and Bayonetta into the game. In other words, upgradeable weapons/skills, sick combos, all the stuff that makes killing (or beating up) people look cool.
Throw in some co-op and double-team abilities and I think you've got a winner.
Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

It's called River City Ransom, it was made in 1989, and it inspired the Scott Pilgrim comic book and the game! It just has sick special moves instead of sick combos. But it's practically a beat-'em-up/RPG, with leveling, upgradeable stats that you can choose how to upgrade, skills you can learn, and items you can collect. Any weapon or enemy you can pick up and throw at another enemy or off a cliff, or you can beat an enemy to death with his own henchman. It even has passwords so you can save all your character stats and come back later. You could save your character's stats and I could save mine, so we could play co-op later. But this was back on the NES, so the passwords were crazy long walls of alphanumerics.
Game's by Technos. They made it right after Double Dragon. It's on the Virtual Console. It's probably my favorite NES game, or at least in the top 3.
But yes, that's STILL an awesome idea. I don't know why we don't have any more games like that. I've been waiting 21 years... and counting... you could do so much more with the genre now... make it 4 player co-op, throw in some vehicles. There was a sequel that was only in Japan, that took place in feudal Japan. You could pick up a rickshaw, and I could jump on it, and then you could beat somebody to death with the rickshaw while I'm still standing on top of it and throwing weapons, or punching and kicking, or jumpkicking off of it. Or you could just roll me around in a rickshaw. If they threw in bikes, skateboards, jetpacks, volcanoes, cars with spikes and guns, and just upgraded the combat to have combos, it would probably be the best game ever. It's almost too easy to make a game that awesome, but I guess devs want to challenge themselves by trying to make nazis and aliens new and hip and interesting...
