And yes, I noticed this whole thread is about attacking fanboys...it is what pretty much everybody is doing, hence me saying "If this stays as a 'let's bash fanboys' thread, I don't really see the point."

PS360N64PSXBOX, your attitude and statements could be improved as well, you're not standing on any higher ground right now.

And btw, to be fair, there are also many gamers not happy with the paths that Sony and Microsoft have taken as well.  There's nothing wrong with anyone's opinion, it's when we try to force our opinions on others that causes problems.

The point is that you are too defensive and quick to claim you are the only one that is right. Oh, and I have a PS3 but I'm getting a Wii. There are games I'd like to play for both, and I'm not threatened by the Wii because I know that it's just expanding the market, not shrinking it. "Hardcore" games will remain, so everyone chill out.

Well, Maybe if people would stop attacking me and try to state their views and disprove my statements..Maybe I wouldn't be so quick to claim I am right? So far nobody had given a reason to believe that I am wrong...If I am indeed wrong it should be easy to prove right?

Interesting thread. First I will start by stating that the Nintendo Wii should be capable of excellent impressive games, for example Mario64 for the N64 is still one of my favourite well designed games. So does raw power really matter? Well could Mario64 be done on a Snes? Could GTA: San Andreas without making significant sacrifices beyond just the graphics be done on the N64? Do people remember the time when people spend huge amounts of money on upgrading their PCs or buy new ones just to play Doom well enough (People could have stuck to Tetris and Pacman)? Do you prefer your Nintendo DS with better graphics and more complex game design over the original black&white Gameboy? The XBox 360 and PS3 offer by far more creative freedom to developers to design the game they really want to deliver us, at least in terms of graphics, audio, game complexity and performance. With regard to these points IMO the Nintendo Wii competes more with the PS2 than with the more highly specced platforms. Pricing is also important, the Nintendo is affordable to a larger group of people and even more so is the PS2 which still enjoys quality releases with for example Singstar and God of War 2. I am actually happy the Nintendo Wii exists and addresses a lower end of the market still not served by the PS3 and to a lesser extend the XBox 360 due to higher price points, but this while still feeling fresh due to introducing a new style of gameplay! I would have been thoroughly dissapointed if Microsoft and Sony aimed at the lower end market competing directly with the Wii but at a cost regarding the points I mentioned earlier. I am happy there are the current differences between consoles as more people can be served this way at this point of time.

Could Msrio64 be done on the SNES? No.. Could gta san andreas be done on the N64? No. Neither is powerful enough or has enough memory to play those games.

Every game developer, if it wants to create art, uses in the best way the tools he has for it. The game itself can be a masterpiece or a piece of crap and that has nothing to do with the power of the console. If that was true, then a game made today for the Wii or for the PS2 like God of War 2 could never pass the 8/10 mark, because it could never reach the graphic level of some crappy game made for the 360/ps3.

Saying the developers are limited by the wii is nonsense, because they are always limited. They are limited by resolution, interfaces, support, time and money.
