Whether it be dinner, drinks, jewelery; you're always paying for it....Oh you meant COD online. No I won't pay a monthly subscription fee to play any console game. I would consider a one time fee after a trial period (30-60 days) if a game was compelling enough for me to continue playing online. Particularly if added maps or additional leveling was available with said fee. But after a month straight of MW2 online, I'd had enough.
If the fee's would limit the amount of cheaters and jerks online playing, it could be a worthwhile investment as well.
I guess there could be some upside to it if the proper environment, pricing and content were created for a subscription model. Just have to wait and see how it pans out.

lol you know kotick would charge for map packs on top of the fee.
Anyone that pays to play games online is a fool and Activision aren't going to get the support they want if they follow that method. If it does succeed, then every other publishers going to follow the money and I'm going to blame Microsoft and Activision.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
I would consider it. The only way I would pay for it though is if they constantly support/update the game. If I'm paying for online I want to see glitches patched ASAP, cheaters banned and constant tweaks to make the game balanced. If they aren't willing to support the game at all (which is the case with MW2) then there's no way I'd pay.
