Super Mario World - my first game

This game is still the reason why I can get angry at nintendo but I can never completely abandon them. Whenever I think of doing that I remember my childhood playing this game and all the hate disappears!

my first game was mortal kombat, my 2nd game was a digimon game, i want a new digimon game. i miss the past.

Liar!!! You said on the Juestin Bieber Lesbian look-alike thread that you're in a retirement home and that you were live in a retirement home and that you were alive when the first Mickey Mouse cartoon came out. You lied you teenage bastard! You lied!

On-topic: Heroes of Might and Magic III. It was one of the first games that I ever played and I have fond memories of playing together with my freinds. Didn't have internet at the time so we'd play using the hot seat option. It was like a PC boardgame. Fun times .

Parasite Eve II. It had elements of survival horror, RPG and a little shooter all combined into one hell of a unique experience. It has more replay value than any other single player game I've ever played in my life. I've beat the game about 35 times now...one as recently as 2 weeks ago.

Worthy mention: Vagrant Story, another super unique game (damn, what happened to old squaresoft?)

Its only fail is the number of hours I have to spend grinding for the Holy win and arturos gems lol.

The digimon game on PS1? That ruled!!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Final Fantasy VII: For the game itself (it rocks!) but also because it reminds me of how I started the Sony part of my gaming career.

I didn't have a PS1 but having played all NA available Final Fantasy to death there was no way I was going to miss out on FFVII. I rented a PS1 with the game and since I didn't have a memory card left it open all weekend, played as much as I could.

After that weekend, I HAD to have a PS1, I bought one a couple weeks later, "forced" my brother to pay for half (with the ever effective "You don't pay, you don't play" strategy.

Good times!

indeed it had very good graphics for the ps1, i dont remember how it played, it was probably an adventure game. its sad that if a similar game came right know it would be bashed.

You fooled me!

I had this whole image of a sweet old man living in a retirement home, abandoned by his family, all alone with nothing but video games, a hobby that he picked up from one of the kids volunteering at the old folks home. I had this whole ideea of me adding him as a friend on this site and befriending him and eventually going to the Uk to visit him, 'cause you know, his kids and grandkids had forgotten about him, to busy with their petty shallow lives.

And we would play Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 they had at the old folks home, and he'd tell me his life story and I'd learn valuable life lessons and he'd relive his youth through me and encourage me to not be afraid to live my life. The kids volunteering would pick on him and call him senile and replace his heart medicine with tic-tacs, but I'd scare them off and defend him

And after I'd return home to Romania, and one day I'd notice that he didn't respond to an email I had sent him some time ago, so I'd make an expensive phone call to the old folks home in the UK and I'd learn that he had passed away. So I'd go back to the UK to his funeral and see what a-holes his family is, saying what a looser he was and how he never made any money and how they didn't have anything to inherit. Outraged, and knowing what a nice wonderfull man he was, I'd write a book in his honour that would become a best seller and adapted into a Lifetime movie starring Ian McKellen as the old guy and a good looking hot up and coming newcomer as me. And then I'd be invited on Oprah and she'd compliment my book that had sold 1 million copies in the US in just 1 month and what a nice young man I was and how extremely handsome I was and how even a closeted hardcore lesbian like her would go straight for me.

Damn you, you barely-got-out-of-puberty punk! Damn you for ruining my dream of being on Oprah! Why couldn't you be a sad old man in a retirement home?

I know it's a lot more recent than most people here but demon's souls. This game goes back to what makes an rpg fun simple combat but with a lot of depth added to it. And it's also ferakin' addictive.
