Forums - Nintendo - I think some Virtual Boy games should be remade for the 3DS.

Settle down, and hear read me out.

The biggest problem with the VB was that the system itself was impractical to play, in just about every manner but the controller (which I tried in stores and felt a bit like the Gamecube controller).

Now this doesn't mean the games were all masterpieces, but their greateness was hindered by the system. It means that any quality the games had was hindered by the system. Some games weren't that good, but a few, like Wario Land and Red Alarm, got some amount of praise. Therefore remaking them for the 3DS could be a way to play these games as they were meant to be played, but the nature of their system got in the way of.

Also, I don't mean huge, full polygon graphics and texturing remakes. It could be as simple as adding color to the monochrome setup, and selling the games for a bargain price. Or even as DSiWare downloads.

No. It's bad karma letting anything with a connection to the VB touch the 3DS.

Edit:

And I think there are far better games to remake for the 3DS.

That's a false dichotomy, as in assuming that you remake one or the other. Even if you don't like the VB games, the logic of that particular comment is off.

VB or no VB I would be happy with ANY sort of virtual-handheld for 3DS/DSi. I know there are a bunch of retro-remakes planned for 3DS, but its not the same as just being able to download tons of classics. I shouldn't be too hopefull though, look at how Virtual Console churns out games at a pathetically slow pace...

I guess I'm one of the minority that would like to see games from VB to shine as they should've been... on the 3DS.

While I only played a little bit of Wario Land at a store demo (and before any soreness could set in), the game was pretty good. So it should get a second chance on the 3DS.

With that said... I want some R-Zone games on the 3DS as well.

A new Mario Tennis game would be good. The depth would work well with the gameplay of Camelot's Mario Tennis entries.

I think VB should have games present in the Virtual Console if one gets announced for the 3DS. I expect a Virtual Console from Nintendo. I want to see the origional GB games and VB games coming to 3DS!

I'm not sure about remaking the VB version, but there really needs to be a new Nintendo developed Wario Land on the 3DS. After they started outsourcing, the Wario platformers have never reached the quality of their predecessors.
