Tekken X Street Fighter unveil set for GamesCom [Update]

Update: Whoops. Looks like there was a little mess up on Namco Bandai’s end. They’ll be showing off the already-revealed Street Fighter X Tekken, not Tekken X Street Fighter. Sorry, folks. 

Original: Following Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken reveal at the San Diego Comic-Con, Namco Bandai has announced that they’ll be revealing Tekken X Street Fighter at GamesCom later this month.

Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter are two completely different games – one being developed by Capcom in the Street Fighter universe and the other by Namco Bandai in the Tekken universe. We’ve already seen the likes of Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams thrown into the Street Fighter world. Now it’s time to see Ryu, Chun-Li, and company thrown into the Tekken world.

The reveal happens on August 19 at 2pm at the Konrad-Adenauer-Saal. It’s open to the public for anybody in the area. Those who attend will walk out with exclusive goodies.

looked at the screens... obviously the Street Fighter IV engine, not sure how I feel about it, hopefully it doesn't play like Street Fighter IV cause then its just Super Super Street Fighter IV *Now with more characters* I want something pretty unique.

Eh, outside the partner assists, I didn't see anything that wouldn't be in SSF4?  What else makes it so different exactly?

I just thought that having both version on the same console might cannabalise each other.

If both are on PS3/360, I'll probably get SF vs Tekken
