Forums - Nintendo - New CoroCoro scan of Pokemon Black & White!

http://pokebeach.com/2010/08/august-corocoro-scans-leaking-several-new-pokemon

Update #2 (4:45 AM) - Possible name inspiration for Shippou City added below. | Update (4:30 AM) - Types and other info added.

The August issue of CoroCoro magazine is currently leaking. The first two scans are below, with more coming. Translations are constantly being added thanks to Sabonea_Masukippa and Viper.Fox, so keep refreshing. Click the thumbnail below for a larger scan. Please read the previous update if you have not been here in the past hour or so - there is another new Pokemon in it.

  • Giruja (ギルジャ) is the blue fish, a Water-type. Its name comes from “giru,” which means “gills.”
  • Hakubirisu (ハクビルス) is the swan, a Water/Flying-type. It has a new ability called White Wing (しろいつばさ). “Haku” is from “hakuchou,” which is “swan” in Japanese. Its name may also derive from “hakubi,” which means “the best.”
  • Shikijika is the Seasonal Pokemon, a Normal/Grass-type (as revealed in the previous update). Shikijika’s evolution, rather than Shikijika itself, changes in appearance with the changing of the seasons. Its evolution is silhouetted next to it (and no, it’s not Stantler!).
  • Burokko (ブロッコ) is the green monkey thing, a Grass-type, revealed last month as a toy. Its name comes from the English word “broccoli.”
  • Mamanbou, Luvdisc’s apparent evolution, is a Water-type and has Swift Swim as its ability. It appears to weigh 320.0kg.
  • Aloe is the Gym Leader of Shippou City (シッポウシティ). The city could be named after a religious Buddhist term for the “Seven Precious Treasures,” being Gold, Silver, Pearls, Agate, Crystal, Coral, and Lapis Lazuli. Most of these have been game elements to boot. It can also be named after “Cloisonne,” which is enamel work (”enamelware in which colored areas are separated by thin metal strips”). So either the city deals in religion or art (or perhaps uses the metal from that religious term for the enamel work). Considering Aloe is wearing a big apron, she might be a cloisonne ware maker.

Update (4:00 AM) - Another Pokemon from the demo has been leaked, as you can see below. A sprite of Emonga has also been leaked.

A few buses are making their way through Japan with new Black and White demos on board and some Japanese fans have already managed to get a few photos of a couple of new Pokemon. Details are below. There is a slight chance these images are fake, so be a little wary for now; click their thumbnails for larger pictures.

  • Emonga (エモンガ) is the Flying Squirrel Pokemon, stands 0.4m tall, and weights 5.0kg. It is an Electric / Flying-type and has Static as its ability.
  • Gigaiasu (ギガイアス), which was revealed previously, is the High Pressure Pokemon. It is a Rock-type, has the Sturdy ability, stands 1.7m tall, and weighs 270.0kg.
  • Darumakka (ダルマッカ) is a Fire-type and the supposed pre-evolution of Hihidaruma.
  • Another new Pokemon revealed but not pictured is Basurao (バスラオ), which knows Aqua Jet and Uproar.
  • Shikijika (the previously revealed deer) is a Normal / Grass-type and has Chlorophyll as its ability. Its appearance changes according to the seasons: in the spring it is pink (like the Ken Sugimori artwork), in the summer it is green, in the fall it is orange, and winter’s color is unknown.
  • Growth now seems to raise Special Attack and Attack by one stage.

Unfortunately.. most of these have been confirmed to be fake.

All of the 5th gen pokemon, real or fake, look extremely bland and just not as interesting as say gen 1,2 and maybe 3.

Even Generation IV had some interesting designs, but, personally, the only ones that drive my attention (not that I like them) are Zoroark and Zekrom, but still, they aren't good: Zoroark is a lookalike to Lucario and Zekrom's engine tail makes me confused about its coolness.

But I gave up on convincing other people to think like me some time ago. Anyone who dislikes others' opinion about these guys are stoned here.
