Has not changed my vote and I still have a very, very, very bitter taste in my mouth from the Bush era. So hell no he should be fine. I'm pretty sure I can't be the only one. Also the youth vote leans towards liberals and the aged voters who favor conservatives keep dying more and more each year.

Actually people under 30 are liberal and then when they grow up and have to make tough decisions they become more conservative.

Liberals just don't want to perceived as bad so they take the easy way out

Actually this is just an ideal people tell themselves. People from urban areas are more liberal and rural areas are more conservative as you probably know. The population growth in America is in urban regions while populations are falling in rural areas. So most of the young come from areas were being a liberal is dominant. If it was true that young liberals always become older Republicans than there would never be a Democrat in office. Why, because young people hardly vote and elderly people vote the most. So if young people all converted to conservative Clinton and Obama would never have been voted in and thats just using logic.

Yes, but you are implying that one party will grow old and eventually become irrelivant, but that will never be the case. In a two party system, in our case, libertal vs conservative, even if every conservative were to quit politics tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, you would have a new conservative party rise to power, just as potent as the previous one. Neither party is significant without an equal and alternative party, and thus, no matter how many older conservatives cease to run or vote, liberals will not stand unopposed. It's a two party system, if you have some misguided hope that your party will somehow dominate in a few years, you're wrong. The pendulum swings both ways and it always will. Whatever reasonings you might be able to come up with to support such hope are based on false pretenses.

Your best hope for a liberal future is that the republican party moves farther towards the left in coming years to compensate for the more liberal younger demographics as they age, and thus bringing the country more towards the left as a whole. Anyone who thinks the republican party is powerless and insignificant only need listen to any Obama speech, because they are the only thing our president can seem to talk about despite the fact that they currently have very little power. :P

FYI:

The Republicans just changed the way they elect their presidential nominee in a pretty major overhaul. It is designed to promote more grassroots politicians vs. the ones we've been getting. Essentially, they are moving the primaries that were in January to February, to force politicians to actually have a real campaign vs. winning in NH or Iowa, and carrying the rest.

Had this new system of been established prior to the '08 election, from my understanding, Ron Paul would have been the nominee and not McCain. Smoke that in your pipes Mr. 'the Republicans can't pick someone smart'.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Thinking Palin is stupid,I see you drank the MSM kool-aid. Still talking about Palin when the dumbest person happens to be vice-pres. Please look up dumb quotes or statements authored by the wizard known as Biden. One step from being prez and your still hung up on Palin.  How do you know she is stupid? Oh you must get your news from SNL

One of these three's been involved directly in the office of the President of the United States.  Do you seriously want to debate levels of stupid here?  And do you believe Biden will ever end up as president barring anything that would happen with Obama?  Do you?

Yes I would debate the stupidity of Biden. He gets a pass for saying things such as"Obama is a clean well spoken black person"  And he gets a pass for saying that.  That is stupid

And quotes attributed to Palin are actually things that were said on SNL by Tina Fey playing Palin.  And the MSM still thinks they came from Palin herself. A person has to be blind not see the bias in the last election.  They went out of there way to attack Palin and her family while giving President Obama a red carpet to the white house

Keep telling yourself that.  Here is Palin ON CAMERA:

Obama is turning everything into a communist type world for the U.S  Everything is one sided with him.... he did give people change... he made everything WORSE.

Obama does nothing hes a joke/puppet .... the obama modification home loan plan is more of a joke... he doesnt pressure banks to do anything ... Banks will kick you out of your home like nothing even when you give them the paperwork they need ....

I assume you also watch Fox News? Especially Glenn Beck. It's easy to repeat talking points without linking facts.

As much as your right about Glenn Beck and Fox news, if you do actually research a good majority of his policies they are very far left and can be considered socialist. Mind you in any political spectrum these days it doesn't matter which party a politician belongs to for the most part because whoever gets elected is just another New World Order puppet.

As to the topic of the thread I really hope conservatives in the U.S smarten the hell up for 2012 because if Ron Paul runs again, for godsakes you people better elect him to run against Obama because the man actually has ideals that he sticks by and is one of the very few with the balls to stand up against the establishment.

Even if a worse case scenario happens.  You need someone to beat you.

Look how angry and pissed off most people were at George W Bush when he ran for re-election.

Only problem was, John Kerry was actually worse.

It will be the same this time.

Obama will win due to a lack of credible opponents.

How did they change it? I am confused.

I honestly think she was playing dumb not knowing what a VP does. I think she was just trying to throw people off her trail.

First of all, I think it is great how we Americans place all the blame for everything on the president.  All those laws and budgets and economic plans that are attributed to bush, yeah most of the them were drafted and passed in the house and senate.  Guess who had control of the house and senate, yeah, it was the democrats.  All bush did was sign the crap into law.  Of course, that places some of the blame on him, but not all of it.

As for next election, I have a hard time thinking Obama could actually lose.  The republicans are more fractured than ever with all this tea party crap.  I think it would be awesome if Romney got the nom, because I think he could put up a good fight for Obama, but I don't think he will.

Either way, I'm not going to vote.  No point.  My state will go republican whether I vote or not, so there isn't much of a point for me to actually participate in the voting process.

I can't be sure of Palin playing dumb to throw people off.  I think the selection of Palin came off as a surprise even to her.  Anyhow, later on, she said the VP was in charge of the senate.
