Forums - General - I just went skydiving :D

It was amazing, 11,000 feet up into the air free falling for 60 seconds then descending in the chute for 5 mins, unbelievable experience, everyone needs to try this. This was also my first time in an aircraft so it was two treats into one, everything was so tiny and the clouds looked like cotton candy lol. It was such a rush of adrenaline.

This is something everyone needs to try at least once, it was one of the best experiences of my life.

So does anyone like to try it? has anyone ever went before?  If so what was your experience like?

Awesome. I've been contemplating skydiving for my 18th birthday, but I have to get over my fear of unrestrained heights. What's the scariest part, and do you know the casualties of skydiving?

I always have a fear that the parachute will NEVER OPEN!!!!!

Thats why I haven't tried.

its a fastest way to die , so its a Win/Win

@OP

did you manage to control your flight at that 60 second free falling? , because it takes a bit of skill and some training just to control yourself.

i've never did it but now i want to.

Theres two scary parts. The wait before you get into the plane and then everything is fine your enjoying the scenery then the second part is when they open that door of the plane and it's a huge rush of wind and noise and your kind of rushed out of the door.

Also let's just say the drive there is more dangerous then skydiving. There's like a 1 and million chance both chutes wont work, I think in the last 15 years there was like 500 deaths and it's all really because of the jumpers fault, messing something up, not so much the chute failing.

Oh I didn't do it alone I had a professional attached to me,  we didn't have much trouble controlling the free fall jump.

lol of course you can't do it alone, but some professionals will let you free fall without attachment to them, while staying close.

I skydived only a single time. It was a trip to Florida, last July, in a place not very far from Orlando. Tandem skydive at 18000 feet if I'm not mistaken so it was pretty high haha.

I don't tremember very well, but there was something that is deployed not long after you jump, and incidentally the parachute was deployed as well. The fall took like what, half an hour? Thankfully here the wind was not that strong thankfully and we faced no strong updrafts/downdrafts. We landed somewhat far from where the landing was supposed to happen. I ran out of subjects to talk with the instructor during the long fall, and the cameraflyer (photographer that jumps first to take pics) was long gone when we finally landed.

No, I'm not doing it again, thank you very much.
